FRELLING DARK FACE BUG!!!!

I have been grappling with this persistent annoyance ever since I got this game on PC.  While fixes have worked occasionally, it keeps rearing it's ugly mismatched head at seemingly completely random times.

Just recently, trying to fix some utter weirdness with Companions' quests, I downloaded the Unofficial Patches.  Now, my followers almost all have variations on Dark Face Bug.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled ApachiiHair for NPCs, uninstalled and reinstalled the color mismatch fixes, uninstalled and reinstalled Beautiful Vampires (the only mod I found to fix the Dark Face Bug on vampire NPCs), left all those mods off, deleted the FaceGenData folder, Verified Files through Steam, and tried just about every combination of all those things I can think of, and I'm still getting the frelling dark faces!  I'm honestly at a loss for what to do to fix this and keep if fucking fixed.

So, I'm trying to fix it through the creation kit, but I'm having a problem with Beautiful Vampires.  I managed to get it to load multiple masters, but now I get all these warnings about missing stuff in C:\Skyrim directories.  My Skyrim is installed on my D: drive (actually a partition of my main drive), and there is no Skyrim data on my C: drive.  What gives?

CK doesn't like Skyrim being outside of the usual Steam installation folder. If you've been using Steam's option to install games to other drives this is going to prevent it from working. I'm pretty sure it can be configured to work on the other locations but it's not something I've ever tried.

If you are determined to use CK then it might be best to move Skyrim back to the default location.

On the Grey Face / Dark Face bug: this is usually caused by a modder forgetting to package their FaceGenData folder when distributing. It might be worth going back the mod pages and seeing if there are updates.

Well, thing is, my C: partition is REALLY tiny (not my idea, I didn't set it up that way) so I have to install pretty much all non-essentials on the D: partition.  That's where Steam itself is, and it just merrily installs things on D: on it's own.

I've futzed around with uninstalling and reinstalling mods enough.  Deleted my Data folder and reinstalling all my mods, see if that works (and if I can salvage my save game after doing that.)

Okay, completely deleting my Data folder and reinstalling everything didn't even fix this fucking problem!  (Though my save is still playable, that's a plus.)  I am completely at a loss here.

Well, not completely.  I've managed to fix the problem for everyone except my vampire follower added through Beautiful Vampires, which is exceptionally annoying because the whole reason I downloaded that in first place was to fix Dark Face Bugs on female vampire NPCs.  But I just cannot get this to work.

EDIT:  Nevermind, got it fixed.  Uninstalling some of the mods I downloaded to fix this issue (after the mod I downloaded to fix it previously fixed it) fixed it.  Two breaks make a fix, maybe?
