Walther P38 mesh inquiry

Sorry if this isn't the right place, but just trying to see if anyone was able/willing to create a mesh/model for a weapon.

I wanted to do the P38 with the silencer/stock/scope addons and have it look like Megatron from Transformers G1.  Doesn't matter if it has the Decepticon logos on it or not...I just wanted to know if anyone could make it.  I should be able to do the GECK work on it.  Just I have no skills in making the model or even the programs to try.

Your best bet is to find a pistol mesh somewhere, probably the nexus that looks the closest to P38. I am not sure if the P38 mesh is available on the nexus. Than you are probably going to have download other gun mods that has a silencer, stock and scope addons. Than... you open up nifskope copy said branches and than paste them over to the P38. After, you'll probably need a texturing program such as gimp or photoshop and make the custom texture yourself. If you feel real lazy than you can google an image of what you want and paste that onto your default weapon texture. It's actually not that difficult to do.

Hmmm...I guess I will see what I can do. :/  Thanks anyway

I keep looking on the Nexus and no one has anything even remotely resembling a Walther P-38.   :(

Trying to dig thru every weapon mod on there.....was just hoping I could get some help because I don't have the skills to do 3d stuff....BEst I've ever done were some flags and sails for Pirates of the Burning Sea a few years ago.

Closest I've found is a removed WW2 Weapons pack on Fallout 3 Nexus....I can find some nice Deviant Art...But I don't know the first thing about converting them to something useable....(assuming the artists agrees to let me use them)

Buried in the Nexus was a P38 created by DZeus86.  Asking permission to use his stuff.  Next trick is to figure out how to do the model changes...heh

Well you are allowed to edit mods for personal use unless you plan on uploading it.

Your not really changing any model. It's more like copying and pasting a model from one gun to another. You need nifskope. For example... most silencers on gun is a completely seperate mesh meaning just like copying and pasting a sentence you do the same thing. It's called copy and paste branch. Textures can be a bit more challenging I admit, mainly because for me it hard to create HD textures... maybe I was simply not meant to be artist :(

If I make it...I will be sharing it.

I want to do 2 versions...One a standard 9mm...and the other that uses custom ammo (Energon) and fires purple blasts like in the show....that shouldn't be too hard once I get the model with mods set....but that's where I am stuck...I dunno how to even start...I downloaded Nifskope.....but I am totally lost. Part of the issue there is the I Don't have a lot of free time thanks to family and work..was hoping I could outsource the part I don't know how to do...heh.

You need to find the mesh file and open it in the nifskope.

It should be in your Fallout > Data > Mesh > "Your downloaded file name"

Even before that... did you download a different gun with the the appropriate attachments?

I have to find the proper ones....Then is it just cut and paste from there in Nikskope?

Yes pretty much... you open up two nifskope screens and you copy mesh from one gun and paste it to the other gun. Than you may need to adjust the x,y,z to get it properly in place.
