Something's going on in Markarth

I'm pretty sure this isn't vanilla, because I couldn't possibly miss something that obvious. If it's not obvious - big green letters spelling MARKARTH in the middle of the flags.

Did I mess with a mesh I shouldn't have? Don't think I've touched anything that would involve flags. Some mod? I don't remember a single mod that I'm using that in any way touches flags. Or maybe it's always been there and the booze finally fried my brain.

That's new and I have no clue where it is from. It honestly looks photoshopped on. I am going to assume your not trolling with a pretend issue. I have no clue where or what mod could have added that.

No troll. Last mod I added was something that changed the texture of Frost the horse, and although I haven't been to Markarth since that mod was added, I think, I'm pretty sure that mod doesn't modify Markarth. Will try some process of elimination later if no one knows.

EDIT: looks like I'm not alone with the issue. http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/1xnm0h/are_the_banners_outside_markarth_supposed_to_look/

I'll read through that I guess for starters.

EDIT2: oh, it's actually a vanilla issue... but for some reason I've never noticed it before. I did upgrade the unofficial patches except texture one and... Mesh and Texture Fixes

  • Texture set CityBannerMarkarth had a generic placeholder texture with the word "Markarth" on it. This has been replaced with a proper banner texture for the city. (Textures\Clutter\CityBannerMarkarth01.dds) (Bug #13269)

This could have been added by almost any mod. It could even be accidental - a wild edit in Creation Kit referencing a test texture.

If you have any mods that alter the towns and cities in any way they are the most likely culprits. I'd try uninstalling them temporarily to see if they are responsible.
