hentaijin Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 So I recently started using Mod Organizer (MO), which is much is suppose to be better than Nexus Mod Manager(NMM), which I used forever.I have a lot of mods so it all being organized correctly was important. I noticed the categories in MO do not match those of NMM and the Nexus site even though MO is designed to work with the Nexus. Â So I made a custom 'categories.dat' file that I'll share to make other people's lives simpler.I removed all the default MO categories and added all the Nexus categories with the correct IDs.This should make it so it always put your Nexus install into the correct category instead of some of your mods sitting around un-categorized.To use it just replace(if you even have one) the 'categories.dat' file in the main MO folder(where ModOrganizer.exe is). Â nexus categories.dat.zip
gvman3670 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Cool idea. This will probably come in handy for some folks. Not me, though, since I just manually download from Nexus and hang on to the archives that I like.
MisterMoth Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 This is awesome! Â I just recently switched to MO on a new computer, because of everyone's great comments about it. My first gripe with it was exactly that: looks like somebody didn't finish the categorizing job. Â Well, thank you for "finishing" it. Â You should post this elsewhere, as it seems like it's not getting much attention in here. Do you mind if I link to it? Or do you not want that?

The best way for this to get used would be for it to be included as an optional file in the official MO nexus download.
XJ347 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Interesting....  I'm going to make new custom categories for my different profiles, using your file as a template.  Thanks!
White Divinity Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 This would be pretty useful , sadly thought , i download my mods manually then put them on MO , seems like this misses up the mod ID , thus making it not possible for it to be categorized automatically .

It's a lot better to have it downloaded via MO that way it automatically adds the IDs(you can still do it manually after you manually install a nexus mod) so you can easily check all your mods for updates.
Pronema Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 That's great, now all I have to do is organize everything properly and do more merged and bashed patch debugging.
Neogeo Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 My tip: Find Awfularchdemon and contact him, he's a MO fanatic and probably the best guy for problems and ideas I'd say.
