bobbybbb Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 So I want to install Interesting NPCs and Inconsequential NPCs but I have sky children (update 24) installed. Now am I correct in thinking that sky children is basically built upon "Xvision Children - Redone" and the Xvision compatibility patches for Interesting NPCs and Inconsequential NPCs should solve any conflicts or do these compatibility patches only work with the latest Xvision Children - redone? I ended up not using a sky child race so in retrospect I should of not bothered installing it in the first place and just used Xvision Children - Redone but I did a manual install of sky children and i'm not sure how to uninstall (can Xvision Children - Redone simply be installed and it will overwrite sky?) Forgive my modding ignorance Basically I am just looking for the simpilest solution to get Interesting NPCs and Inconsequential NPCs working without conflict in my current situation and as I mentioned I am willing to uninstall/overwrite sky children if necessary. Thank you.
gvman3670 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 It's probably not a lot of help, but I've only used Inconsequential NPCs, Interesting NPCs and SkyKids of those (and even all together at once). I had no conflicts with those at all. But I didn't add any more than the basic SkyKids core and the NPC replacer (no hostiles or anything).
Advint Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Well, you could, save, transport yourself to an interior cell with no NPC's save again under a new slot, install the mods mentioned, and then see if it works. That way you have the save without the mods on it to fall back on, so if they don't work you can uninstall them and go right on back to playing within a brief period. Also Mod Organizer, for if you ever re install everything from scratch, it will save you time in the long run.

I just have sky core and the replacer for vanilla clothes and the NPC follower in rifted so there is a good chance there will not even be any major issues good to know Well, you could, save, transport yourself to an interior cell with no NPC's save again under a new slot, install the mods mentioned, and then see if it works. Ok so I guess I will just try them out and see, should I use the "Interesting NPCs and Inconsequential NPCs Xvision compatibility patches" that are in the optional files or are these not supposed to be combined with the sky children mod? and yeah Mod Organizer seems like a good idea if i even do a full re-install
gvman3670 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I don't know about the X-Vision children mod, but it sounds like it would be your source of conflicts if you were to have any. SkyKids hasn't given me any at all. And since you have the SK replacer, why worry about XVC at all? Just avoid the conflicts if you can.

SC included "xvisionchildren.esp" so I assumed SC was sort of a modification of X-Vision therefore the Xvision compatibility patches for Interesting NPCs and Inconsequential NPCs should be used? But since you run those without conflict I may as well just give it a go and can uninstall the npc mods if it does not work. I will try it later on but if anyone has any other advice on the compatibility patches I would appreciate any info.
