Dawnguard help

Hi all, I've been having a problem for a while and was wondering if anyone could help. I'm currently going through the Dawnguard questline, but whenever I try to enter Castle Volkihar the game CTD's.

P.S: next time, before you post the question, try to find the answer on your problem by using the "Search" because maybe someone who had similar problem, found a solution for it.

No problem. If you have a problem like Dawnguard, you only need is to type Dawnguard in search bar and choose Forum, because search bar is always set to the present page you are on.

Ok, and I read through the post and am wondering, does the save rollback work or do I have to start a completely fresh game?

Usually it works. Just make sure you load the save before you hired Serana if you have one. Of course, you can always use named console commands to go through task, but, my experience (and some other people and as official Skyim site recommend) is to avoid that, since the bug will go through all other task related to that one.

Ok, thanks a lot. My last save was quite a ways before that, but I do have some other quests I want to get out of the way anyway

I'm glad you found the old save. I know how frustrating must be when you have to go way back, but it is better to do that then have more complications later  and have even more frustrations.

Let me just say this: You probably noticed that I mentioned how I don't have any more glitches in Dawnguard sine updated all unofficial patches?! Well, that is true. I recently installed two new (testing) characters. I finished Dawnagrad's all quests without single glitch with both of them

Yeah, I have all of the unofficial patches and have them all updated

Good. One small tip too. Next time when are you planning to visit castle Volkihar, don't go with any follower, just Serana. I don't know why but sometimes having an extra follower causing a glitch when arriving on the castle island.
