What Do I Replace Nmm When I Already Have A Bunch Of Mods Installed?

Greetings LL members! So I'm fairly new to Oblivion and TES. Obviously, my first go-to source for mods is NexusMods along with their Nexus Mod Manager. However, the more I get into the modding scene, the more I see people having distaste for NexusMods. I've encountered multiple mods that have been pulled by the author from there but are still available elsewhere. All in all, I believe continuing to rely on their NexusModManager product will burn me down the road.

So now I ask you good people, what are my options aside from manually applying the patches? Generally the one useful thing I find about NMM is that it tracks what gets put on and what gets replaced so that when I want to disable or remove the mod, it can put back the files that were modified. Is there another mod manager that can do this? I've seen OBMM but I believe OBMM doesn't have that one feature.

Wrye Bash version 295 and doing bain installations is the most advanced mod management and tracking\installation program\process:  http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/Wrye%20Bash%20295/

I recommend using the standalone installer version.

Do NOT use the "latest" version of wrye bash for Oblivion.  They tried to make a bunch of changes for Skyrim and broke things for Oblivion instead.

There is a pictorial guide for wrye bash over at the nexus to help you through the learning curve of using wrye.

Cheers,

Greg
