skyrimkillmod Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 the body im working with looks like it has seams along the crotch sides and butt area here are some pics. I pulled the vertices apart to show you the underlieing problem. On the seam there is multipule vertices , im wondering if i combined them if it would fix the seam issue or not. any ways im trying to get rid of this seam so any ideas would be great. im useing 3ds max. This problem is also causeing me issuses when i do shell modifier, you see gaps where the seams were. I need this shell for some chainmail im trying to texture.
b3lisario Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Try the weld tool in the edit mesh modifier. And then fix the normal vectors with the "normal modifier" (or "edit normals", don't remember) Normally these seams in the body mesh are not visible in game because the object space normal maps. If you are doing a chainmail I guess you are using tangent space normal maps, and you need to fix the normal vectors.
skyrimkillmod Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Sweet it worked perfect! What is a good definition for this normals thing?
