Sexlab is throwing a message at me saying I need the latest 1.7 SKSE, which I have!

I'm using mod organizer to load the sexlab framework 1.51 and to launch SKSE, I tried deactivating everything except the essentials but it still doesnt detect SKSE even the game detects it! ( when I Esc it says in the lower left corner I have SKSE 1.7)

This is insane, I can't think of why it wouldnt detect SKSE, I have no idea what to try next.

Anything that Mod Organizer puts into it's virtual directory is the same as putting it in the /Skyrim/data/ folder. And that isn't where SKSE goes. You should still be installing SKSE manually into the Skyrim directory (right where the TESV.exe file is located, a level above the /data/ folder). It will work then, or it damned well better anyway.

try reinstalling skse?

Is mod organizer any better than NMM? and why?

It's 1000000X better than NMM for too many reasons to list here. But in a nutshell it does everything NMM does (but better) and does a ton of other cool stuff all while leaving the Skyrim folder clean and untouched (never need to reinstall your game that way). It allows multiple profiles/characters each running their own set of mods (awesomeness!) and allows for better control over mod overwrites (or over"reads" in this case). It does all this, in part, by using a virtual directory and not actually putting the mods into your game's data folder.

Always install SKSE manually, copy the three files directly into the Skyrim Directory , for example "steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim , copy skse_loader.exe, skse_steam_loader.dll and skse_1_9_32.dll to this , then copy the "scripts" directory into steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data folder and that should be all you need to do to have it up and working. I also make a shortcut to the skse_loader.exe so I can test it properly before using any mod manager there after. The target for the shortcut should have a file path like this Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe

Yes I know and that's what I did, you can see in the spoiler screenshots I manually put skse there, and that the version is the alpha version, I also copied the scripts, but it still isn't working. I had from the start manually installed skse, bear in mind I am launching with MO, which is necessary for the MO mods to load.

So it should work! everything is fine, that's why it's a mystery.

I see SKSE in MO's left pane (for installed mods). It really shouldn't be there at all. It should be running in the actuall Skyrim folder (above /data/).

You can see that the SKSE folder in MO only contains the scripts, the actual dlls and skse_loader were installed manually.

Also I had put the scripts manually in the data folder as showed. So yeah everything is as it should.

EDIT: managed to make sexlab to apparently detect it by disabling that SKSE folder in MO, so thanks gvman.

However now I'm faced with another problem, sexlab doesn't detect any animations, but I ran FNIS...

You can repack FNIS for MO or install that manually as well. Just be sure to run FNIS as an executable and it should work whichever way you go. I've done it both ways and both worked. Repacking the FNIS mod(s) and putting the generator .exe into the Skyrim/data/tools folder is the easiest to deal with when upgrading to a newer version, though. Just be sure to run it from inside of Mod Organizer and check what's in the overwrite folder (that's where the animations should be stored).
