Guest Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 So recently I've been getting some very heavy fps lag in skyrim, and I cant tell what is causing it. I have only downloaded armor mods recently but I can't see how that could be causing it. I looked at my papyrus log, and couldn't see anything there but an old uninstall error that I've had for a while. I'm out of ideas, here's my papyrus log if you guys think you can find something. Papyrus.0 (3).zip
hentaijin Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 You could try disabling mods in your mod order until you notice it speed back up. Start from the bottom of the load order(going straight up) and disable a few each time, load up the game, check if it's better, if not try again. I had to do something like this myself to figure out 2 of my mods were causing bugs. If you're getting performance issues everywhere and in other games it could be completely unrelated to skyrim.
TwitchJD Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Hi, this is probably completely unhelpful, but I had a similar issue, and was able to fix it, so I thought I would share on the off chance that it will be helpful.I game on my laptop, and after a system update my game suffered some very heavy fps lag, and the problem was that my laptop has two gpu's one good one from Nvidia and another Intel HD Graphics card, and for some stupid reason windows just suddenly decided to make all programs run on the HD graphics card. I had to basically reassign the right graphics card to the game (nvse & skyrim.exe)Hope this helps.
gvman3670 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Armors with really high poly counts and high res textures can cause FPS issues, though. What armors are you using? You can try optimizing the textures on them, too, to get some performance back.
Guest Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 It ended up being this armor right here http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52711/? even though I wasn't wearing it. I didn't even have it in my inventory yet.
gvman3670 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Yeah, I've run across a few that were so high poly and so highly detailed that I got lag from them. I haven't even tried using that barbarian armor yet because my machine's performance isn't very good and I figure that would lag me out.
Guest Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 So turns out it wasn't the armor. I'm still dropping frames heavily. I've disabled everything I've recently installed, but there is no change.
BlackArk Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I think a Mod list and PC specs would be helpful.
Guest Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 CPU: Intel Core i5 3570kMotherboard: ASUS p8z77-v lkRAM: 8gb 686MHzGPU: ATI AMD Radeon HD 7800 2048mbOS: Win7 Pro x64 Never had a fps issue with Skyrim and I've had this since November. I can run Battlefield 4 at high with nearly no fps lag. Mod list is too long to compile.
Guest Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 All I know is whatever this is MFQuest reboot for finding no horse is causing the problem, it has been in every papyrus log. Edit: Alright I looked at every mod I have installed and once installed to see anything related to mfquest and I found it. It was a mod called Mounted Followers, has no esp or esm which made it even harder to find. Saved a game that was running 4fps, when i got in ran 20 (it was storming in riften square so obviously it's not gonna be 60fps there.) Still need to do some testing around. Edit 2: Never mind still getting heavy lag. it seems something new will take its place every time I fix it.
