A question to CK users on a Door.

So I know my way around the CK, but have never tried to construct anything or change an exterior world space. My wife started to work on a housing type mod, and she built the entryway interior, then placed the door. She then placed a door in a rockface in the exterior and linked them ( the door is a mine type door that Skyrim uses to enter mines ). Now the thing is, we can COC to the interior she built just fine, and even use the interior door to leave. The thing is, the door OUTSIDE never shows up. If you leave from the interior, you can even see a link spot in the rock and use it go back in, but there is just no door there. We tried everything, and something I read said it MIGHT have to do with Navmesh, but we tried what we knew and it still got us no place.

 

So in the end my question is this : anyone know why an exterior door wouldn't show up after being placed in the CK?

 

P.S : it is just the door. I can drop say a sword right next to the door in the CK, and the sword will show up fine. Just the door won't show.

The door could be scripted to only show up at a certain point in time. You need to make sure you are using a plain everyday door.

Improper navmesh won't keep it from showing up, only keep npc's from using it. As Ark of Truth said there is probably something disabling it or it is set as initially disabled. You can also right click on it and get the Use Info and see what all references it, it should just be the cell where it is and the other door from the interior. If anything else shows up you can double click on it and it will open whatever is referencing it.

Well I told her what you guys said and she loaded up CK and it turns out, somehow a Rock got moved, saved, then moved, so when looking in the CK it looked like it was fine, but in game, a rock was in the way.

Ahh the old click on the render window and something shifts position bug...Tell your wife to click on the banner section at the top of the window rather than IN the window when she wants to go back to it. Prevents that from happening.
