prideslayer Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Tried this once or twice, followed the directions correctly (I think). It seems to be working (I see FalloutNV.4GB in process list on another screen), but when I quit the game, FNV4GB.EXE remains. If I play a few times in a row, then I get one for each time. They stick around until I go into the task manager and kill 'em off. Is this normal / known with the NVSE version of FNV4GB? Hoping to get this working right to fix some crashes I think are coming from NMC's texture pack running me out of memory. Win7 x64, 16GB memory, FONV from Steam. FNV4GB launcher from the NVSE site. Have been launching via 'custom launch command' in FOMM set to FNV4GB.EXE, but it does it when running FNV4GB directly as well.

[/quote'] have you tried running the exe directly or through wrye flash? i've never come across that with the exe. isn't it sad that modern games waste all that ram? i wonder what they will do in the future if all games are set laa?

Directly yes, wrye no (don't have / use that one). Running it directly, same thing. FONV launches, and appears to be launching the correct one, since FalloutNV.4GB appears in the process list, which is the patched copy of FalloutNV.EXE that FNV4GB creates. Only problem is that once I quit the game, FNV4GB.EXE keeps running.. just stays in the process list doing nothing. If I run it again, it shows up twice.. and on and on. If I don't remember to check, there are soon dozens of them since I run and quit FONV a lot debugging mods. I agree about memory waste. Hard to believe the game can chew up this much memory, but I think it's just doing a lot of texture pre-loading.
