Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Hi, Does anyone know how to fix this ghastly 'butt lines' issue? Edit: Click image to enlarge.
winny257 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 The picture is too small, you can not see the problem.
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 That's the CBBE uv map. Depends on many factors like having filters that softens the image (fxaa or aa) distance, resolution, and lots of things can make more or less noticeable how bad CBBE uv map is. It's like neck seams, you've got to try and dissimulate it.
Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 The picture is too small, you can not see the problem. Click the image to enlarge it. It's a normal post attachment, and those are always scaled down for some reason. That's the CBBE uv map. Are there any good replacement uv maps that fix this?
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 UV map is in the body, can't be replaced. Although the texture choice should help making the effect more or less noticeable. Im not sure about your pic it seems like the default CBBE texture, try another texture mod with more detail/realism maybe.
winny257 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 when I click on it is the out of it. http://www.loverslab.com/uploads/monthly_04_2014/post-77943-0-41006400-1396617680.png

Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 UV map is in the body Right, I mixed that up with normal map for some reason Although the texture choice should help making the effect more or less noticeable. I've tried a few, and they all show it. Some less than others. Im not sure about your pic it seems like the default CBBE texture, try another texture mod with more detail/realism maybe. Yeah, they're the default textures. Suppose it can't hurt to try a few more. Guess we can only hope the body's author will fix this in the future.
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 tbh I always used CBBE and most of the time I dont see/notice. From your pic it seems the graphic are lower than lower that won't help...
winny257 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 "Lother" I am an old man and my eyes are not "more" so well. I have used a Microscope and I could then see the stripes on the ass. this is clearly a problem-texture.
Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 From your pic it seems the graphic are lower than lower that won't help... Settings are medium with reduced textures in 1920x1080. Should that really matter? For example, I've never had any issues with UNP.
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Reduces textures doesn't help at all in dissimulating texture issues ^^ UNP uv maps are better though, you may want to switch to unp bodies.
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Also you can wait for the 'Universal Body' release, it will be much better than cbbe and unp all together.
Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Reduces textures doesn't help at all in dissimulating texture issues Reduced environment/building/etc textures. I'm using the second highest CBBE resolution textures. However, even the highest resolution textures that come with CBBE 3.2 (65.5 MB diffuse map) don't fix this. UNP uv maps are better though, you may want to switch to unp bodies. I'm currently using that, but was looking at CBBE to have more options. Also you can wait for the 'Universal Body' release, it will be much better than cbbe and unp all together. Sounds good, thanks.

I think if you set texture quality in low/medium (skyrim launcher) no matter the actual resolution of textures skyrim will screw them anyways. You should really use textures in hight no matter what, its not that performance hitting compard to shadows and it really the most defining elements of overall visual quality. Also long camera distance will make the uv seams more noticieable, at least for me.
Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 I think if you set texture quality in low/medium (skyrim launcher) no matter the actual resolution of textures skyrim will screw them anyways. I use medium textures to fix the purple meshes problem. Welcome to low-end computer land You should really use textures in hight no matter what, its not that performance hitting compard to shadows and it really the most defining elements of overall visual quality. The highest resolution CBBE texture doesn't even load if I set textures to high Second highest resolution texture loads properly, but the seams remain. Also long camera distance will make the uv seams more noticieable, at least for me. It sure does. When you zoom in, the seams go away completely. That would make you think it's a render issue, but even 3ds Max shows this problem. In fact, 3ds Max shows the problem extremely clearly.

Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 But how many ram do you have to spare? Four gigabytes. Cause skyrim vanilla only can use 3.2gb without ENB Boost. I would put in more RAM and use ENB boost, but with 32bit WinXP that just won't work, and since I'm quite broke, I can't upgrade to Win7/8. I actually bought this computer without an OS because I couldn't afford Win7/8 at the time, either.
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I always had 4 and no pink/black textures with enb boost, just recently 8 but still 4 better than 3.2 plus you can actually reduce memory usage (not only allow more) if you set enb boost to enable compression. I recommend you to use enb boost (not actually graphic enb modifications you can't run that, only the mem patch, management, compression) also SSME and maybe safety load too. As for the OS i dont think you need a 64bits not sure. Although, that thing about being broken to not upgrade OS is assuming sometihng I dont want to mention to not bother anyone here ^^
Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Certainly worth looking at those options, but ENboost really does have to work with HiAlgoBoost. Without that, the game stutters, and I can't stand that. On my system, HiAlgoBoost changes Skyrim from unbearable (even at low settings) to properly playable, so that really has priority over EVERYTHING. As for memory usage, wasn't the game somehow limited to just two gigabytes of RAM? ENBoost also mentions something like that if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the advice, looks like I've got some things to try. Perhaps I can improve how the game runs, which is actually much more useful than getting CBBE to look right About your last comment (the broke part), I think I know what you're hinting at, but I would still have to get more RAM, and I can't even afford that at the moment
hryh23k9823u Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Your best friend against stuttering is enb boost, although I know HiAlgo is very efficient... HiAlgo just lowers the game resolution, nothing really fancy... The good thing is that it does on the fly according to the fps needs. Anyway you can use both of course. All this memory patch should allow you to maybe use textures in 'high' and gain some fps I think... That should make the ass checks looks better.
Thorham Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Your best friend against stuttering is enb boost Didn't know that. HiAlgo just lowers the game resolution Not exactly. Even when I configure HiAlgoBoost to not lower the resolution, it still gets rid of the stuttering completely. I use the resolution lowering functionality for a nice FPS boost (especially useful during combat). Anyway you can use both of course. Great. All this memory patch should allow you to maybe use textures in 'high' and gain some fps I think... That should make the ass checks looks better. Okay, gonna try it.
Thorham Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Tried it, and the butt lines issue has improved a lot. However, the performance dropped It's never easy, is it?
hryh23k9823u Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Copy your enblocal.ini (spoiler it) maybe you have some setting wrong.
Thorham Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 There may indeed be something wrong. I just did what they said on the HiAlgoSite. I also read somewhere that HiAlgoBoost only works with ENB up to version 2.36 (which is what I used, because the current version doesn't with HiAlgoBoost here).
