Is there any easy way to remove animations?

First let me explain the reason I use this mod. It adds another layer of risk and terror to the game that you can't find in any retail non-modded game due to taboos. But some of the animations are just flat out immersion breaking.

 

For instance: "You're being raped!" And your character happily jumps on the guy and starts riding him or blowing him while he lays down relaxed with his arms behind his head sorta like Lovers for Oblivion did.

 

There are tons of great animations in this mod but they should be separated to consensual and rape animations.

 

Anyways I went into the idleanims/sexoutNG folder and figured if I just removed the cowgirl/blowjob animations and replaced them with animations from the other categories all would be well, but there doesn't seem to be matching animations for all of them. Particularly 901a-933a. There is no matching 901b-933b animations so I know if I just changed 901a-933a it would mess up in game.

 

Rather than messing with all these files, is there a script I can tweak to eliminate certain animations? I'm no scripter but when I know where to look I can usually figure it out, I have with several other mods in the past.

 

All this aside I really appreciate all the hard work you modders have put into creating this mod, my thanks!

When I have a little more time, I'll revisit the random picker and see what I can do with rape vs. consensual. I understand what you mean and share your feeling, but that is a "big" script, and adding too much to it means new anims can't easily be added -- there is a size limit of 16KB (compiled) for scripts in the GECK.

Both of your suggestions are in my working copy. I'm holding off on a release while I wait to see if Donkey (or someone else) has time to setup the gecko penis as a .nif I can use for them, as well as a slight problem with the new ghoul animation.

New version is out, see if it addresses your issues or not. I eliminated spoons, cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, and the 'male laying down' blowjobs from the random picker if the act is a rape.

 

The actual script you'd want to look at to adjust what is used by the random picker is SexoutNGSanitizeScript starting around line 540 (oral), or 592 (anal and vaginal). I would advise against editing the script though, as doing so will lose your changes during any updates.

 

If you save your stuff to an ESM, then it will lose *my* changes during an update. ;)

 

I'd love to present a complete in game list of animations and let the player decide which ones are in the random picker and which aren't, but MCM is far too bloated and unwieldy for that.

 

I'm considering ditching MCM entirely and replacing it with an in-inventory terminal, similar to how the portable 'cheat terminal' works, if working with those is any easier. Need to investigate. The big problem with doing this sort of stuff with animations is you cannot add them to formlists (the closest thing GECK scripting has to arrays), so each one has to be entered and managed manually in multiple places.
