sketchbook87 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Oblivion and lovers have been great to me, slowly forcing me to branch out into TESCS, TES4edit and generally improving my awareness in the modding side of things. However, I've hit a wall recently, which is the adding of custom sounds to the Diablo and Moonshadow Elf race. In theory, it seems simple enough, but my execution has so far yielded unsatisfactory results like: Being able to load a saved game/ CTD while starting a new game (Most common). Darnified UI appearing during the loading screen of starting a new game and hanging. I'm pretty new ,so most of my methods of overcoming them are largely through trial-and-error, copy and paste and isolating mods that causes CTD in the first place. It has worked great for me so far till now. My attempts: Opening the diablo plugin in TESCS, I came across a folder named diabloellfs1 under the female voice folder, so following an advice from a thread I came across, I created a folder named diabloelfs1 and put it inside Sounds>Voices>Oblivion.esm folder with my chosen sounds, saved the plug-in, played Oblivion, but to no avail. In TESCS, I tried using the source folder from the Final Fantasy race mod which has a custom sound folder but still no results. Archived Invalidated after both a. and b. in OBMM, still no results. I use Wrye Bash for 95% of my mods, so I was sure to properly exit either application before opening the other. Here is my load order (Feel free to point out how I can make it better!) Vaelorian Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 You don't create a race folder under the oblivion.esm folder... Not unless you're trying to replace the original voices anyway. You need to place it like this: data\sound\voice\PLUGIN-NAME.EXTENTION\RACE\GENDER\ Replace the words above that are in all capital letters with whatever fits your mod. That should, in theory, work. Note that I haven't actually messed around with this, as I prefer music over in-game voices. As for your load order, it's... Not quite accurate, I guess, would be the most diplomatic way I can phrase it; for starters, these two should always be at the very bottom of your load order, unless a mod specifically says it loads after them:LoversIdleAnimsPriority.espLoversAnimObjectsPriority.esp Next up, the mods you have loading after them are mostly armor mods (save for the ffrace). They should be pretty far up in your load order. Since I don't use most of your other mods, I won't comment on them.
sketchbook87 Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Hmm there is still no sound. When I open the diablo plugin in TESCS however, it gave me a warning that it was missing files 3000CE6 or 2000CE6. Where did that come from? I came across a site that mentioned the Diablo plugin has a .esm to it. But, the .esm is only mentioned in conjunction with a companion mod. Do I need to acquire it? Thanks for the mod tip, I'm on it.
Vaelorian Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 You don't need the esm. As I said in my previous post, I don't have the most experience with sound files since I don't use them myself. However, if your CS says you are missing a file, you better correct that. You didn't specify a file path, so I don't know which file you need. Also, upgrade to the CSE. It'll make your life easier.
