Jubb Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I made my first mage type character in skyrim recently and I'm using a bunch of mods to make the game feel harder. I'm also trying to roleplay a bit and I wont do stuff that seems unrealistic like saving and reloading constantly to get past an obstacle or pickpocket an item, if something looks impossible I try to find another path or solution and if I get caught doing something bad I face the consequences. One of the mods I use makes traps deadly and you will die from a single hit. So I enter bleak falls barrow and make my way to the undead area where I find a trap with a switch on the other side, it's impossible to flip that switch without dying multiple times so I decide to leave and find a solution to the problem. It was at that point I remembered that the game has a telekinesis spell. I thought that would be an awesome reason to visit the college of winterhold, maybe I could use that to get past. So I make my way there and do the college quests, train my alteration all the way up to the required level to buy and use the spell. After some days of playing I finally get back to bleak falls barrow to get past the trap only to find that telekinesis doesn't work on switches in Skyrim. I was very annoyed by this, even old rpgs that had telekinesis worked on switches. The only other thing I can think of is to use a slow time potion but I'm not sure if that will work. What do you guys think?
Jeffrey Lane Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 you can just walk past those traps, just gotta go slow and watch the timing. but slowing time thru spell/potion/shout should work too.
wulfgear09 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Timing is everything ..have you tried the immersive first person mod? I make me a setting where the view is right in the face under the hood and then move past one at time as jlane409 said. even though your a mage don't over think it
DeepBlueFrog Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 There is also a mod that allows you to teleport somewhere in your line of sight (using some sort of flare as a beacon to land on). I don't know what it is called but I saw it in a video. Edit: A quick search on Nexus brought this up: Portal (as in the game of the same name) - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29447/? Teleport bow - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48053/? Blink teleport - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25924/?
EternalDamned Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Don't try to go all the way through in one shot. There is enough space between the swinging blades to stop without getting hit.
