h4yw0rthy Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Hi, I've been trying to get defeat to work foe about 2 days! About to just give up.... I have installed all the required things in the correct order, and have sexlabs framework and defeat. Run the FNIS thing after everything, as instruced. I have everything at default, but when I get into a fight with a person or creature / draugr i just get killed. It;s as if it wasn't installed at all. BUt when i press escape I can see that the mod is there..... I have disabled most other mods, to try to keep everything as clean as possible and isolate the problem but.... Any ideas?
ToJKa Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Have you tried disabling the mod from the MCM menu, and then re-enabling it? That has helped for me when it hasn't worked correctly.
h4yw0rthy Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 okay will try that... but atm I am redownloading skyrim after uninstalling it.... thoyght a clean start might do it. If that fails I'll try the MCM menu. Thanks! I'll update on whether it works or not....
4onen Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Defeat, unlike Submit, won't stop you from dying. I spent a long time using this mod, and my workaround was if I went into a fight I wanted to get fucked up in, I'd open the console and run the command 'tim'. tim stands for Toggle Immortal Mode, meaning that the player is incapable of dying. Now, 7 times out of 10 it will bug slightly and make the player also not take damage, but if you're below your threshold in defeat then that's not a problem. One last thing: If your threshold is set to "Both" or "Exhaustion" then the enemy needs to hit you in the back to trigger the scene. That's why I always leave mine on "Threshold"
h4yw0rthy Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Ok, tried it, but still not happening.... I keep reinstalling FNIS because I can only guess some animations aren't registering...
h4yw0rthy Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 ok, somehow it started working after a reboot of the computer (and reinstalling skyrim and all mods) but now it only works with humans. Draugr, etc just kill my player. I have the FNIS creature pack installed, (using Nexus mod manager). One thing confusing is, that when I try to install the creature pack, it asks to update a file on the FNIS essential pack. It gives you two options, if you overwrite it installs but uninstalls the other FNIS, and vice versa. If you select no, it installs "normallly" but doesn't change the other FNIS.... if you know what I mean. Oh, I just remembered what helped make it work with humans.... I had a pending level up, so I leveled up and that seemed to help. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong with creatures would be appreciated!
h4yw0rthy Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Ok, it's solved. Checked the box in loverslab 'central control' saying to allow animations for creatures. Works well now, I've become a target for just about anything that moves. Thanks for your help... now I'm going to try reinstalling, carefully, all the immersive armours, skies and other scenery, and get on with the game. Thanks again!
