Akzyra Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 As I started playing Dark Souls (finally set up Mouse + Keyboard, arghhh) the possibility to hit, for example, two enemies in one swing with you sword. Is it possible to implement such a feature into Skyrim? Its annoying you can only hit what you point your cross hair at. Or is it limited by the crappy engine?
gaggedgirl123 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Well I know the two-handed perk tree has a perk that makes it possible to hit several enemies in one swing, so I guess it'S possible. I just don't know exactly how you'd add it
crusher Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 there is also a mod that does this, just need to search for it on nexus, it's no longer in my mod build, as I was always hitting allies turning them to enemy. edit, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8324/?
Guest GuyWhoAbruptlyDisappeared Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 The problem I have with all the available mods is none of them offer down-scaling damage far away from the crosshair. All of the one handed weapons in Skyrim, especially the Mace, are not designed to be swung through multiple opponents. Only the strongest warriors can have the strength to give a lightweight sword enough speed to cut through multiple opponents, and the first cut would take most of the energy. A sweeping hit for the war axe is extremely difficult to justify - war axes are specifically to hit and stick, sending as much energy as possible into a single opponent. A sweeping hit for a mace is complete nonsense. You need the extra kinetic energy from the first opponent just to get the mace ready to swing again. Losing all of the kinetic energy in a mace is pretty much a death wish because of how heavy they are. A sweeping hit for a sword is justifiable, as a sword is designed to maintain kinetic energy for quick cuts, but only if subsequent cuts do less damage, which no mod offers. :c
crusher Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Deadly Combat has damage/distance slider for melee attacks. But being able to adjust the hit window, or arc, would likely serve to refine sweeping great swords vs bludgeoning maces. Though there are two options in above mod, using only the SweepingTwoHanded option would be most immersive. If I swing a 20 lb sledge hammer at a couple of thugs, I'm likely going to damage em both. The first thug hit is just getting in the way of the second guy I'm aiming for. If you've ever demolished a house by hand, you can take out several wall studs with one good swing. I'd also aim for the knees.
