LEDAHGRIM Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Hello guys, aside from being a casual gamer i only played oblivion with mods and never bothered to play it without them... Now skyrims seems to be good enough for me to try to play it the right way and as far as i am it's being quite good... Now here's my problem: I just completed the quest "The black star" that you trigger at the shrine of azura, got azura's star black version and learned soul trap to fill it... Now wathever thing i kill simply wont get soul trapped, it always tells me "No soul gem large enough" and the star stays always empty... What damned kind of creature, human, spirit or monster type fills this crazy soul gem???
DocClox Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I'm guessing you've been through the dungeon with the necromancers, but not taken the star back to the shrine or the mage in the pub at winterhold. There's probably a bit more quest to complete before you can use the star
LEDAHGRIM Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Yeah, i read that on the wiki, but i dont have any other soul gem on my inventory, only azura's star and it still tells me "No large enough soul gem" when i cast soul trap on humans and kill them... Does it have something to do with being encubered?? I also have the "Mace of molag bal" maybe another daedric artifact will let me fill it??? Because i swear no matter what i kill it just wont fill... DocClox: I have clered the quest and repaired the star already killed the guy that was inside it and had it handed over by the mage, the first time i killed something it captured a soul and was at common level of souls... but nothing after that...
DocClox Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 DocClox: I have clered the quest and repaired the star already killed the guy that was inside it and had it handed over by the mage' date=' the first time i killed something it captured a soul and was at common level of souls... but nothing after that... [/quote'] Probably not that, then. Do you have a final discussion with the mage/priest still to do? Is the quest in the "completed" section of the journal? You might still have one conversation before it fully completes. Other than that, I have no ideas beyond maybe reloading.
n3zum1 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 that's strange, you say that in the first time you used it you could capture a soul in the star, did you already used that soul, to recharge ou enchant any equipment? tha star only holds ONE soul.
thenlar Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Humans ONLY give Grand Souls (in a black gem). If you previously captured a common soul in your Azura's Star, then you captured a creature, and thus do not have the black version.
toastybake Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 kill an npc in town with soul trap, then post results. (save it first........ if you must ;D)
LEDAHGRIM Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Hahahaha it seems that azura's star is the same as the black soul gem... Only stores up to grand level souls, I spent the soul already for enchanting and captured another, the thing is I tough that being a daedric artifac it would store more than just grand level capacity. Guess grand it's the limit even for azura's star hahaha, sorry for the trouble folks.
thenlar Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Well, Grand is the best you can get, anyways, so that's nothing to complain about! After all, it's unlimited use!
threeddd33 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 It would be cool if there was a mod for Azura's Star so it would trap the Dialog/Personality/Voice for a Quest-ish type NPC you killed... maybe even a companion, spouse. Like the intelligent swords in the old D&D. Or you could switch it around and make a Intelligent weapon that needs to feed from the Star. Edit: Maybe the Blade of Sacrifice from the Boethiah quest could become an Intelligent weapon when you use it to kill a trusting companion. It could start out hating you (of course) and you could have conflicts of alignments and personality between the weapon and PC or even the weapon and other NPCs. You could go several routs from force feeding it souls to "convert" it to your way of thinking, or doing good deeds to redeem yourself in it's eyes.
