Kangax12 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Hello, I've just one question: Is there a Mod who add really challenging bosses to skyrim? And with that I don't mean mods like "Sanctum of the Fallen", "Spellblade" etc. whose just add tons of hp and +dmg to enemies which you can easy outlvl/exploit/negiate through perks/potions. I mean scripted bosses like the dawnguard boss fights but in actually hard and not "you can only die if you're retarted even on legendary" way. Atm I didn't find at least a single mod on the nexus who is more than a simple "swallow xx potions to win mod". Is there really no dungeon mod out there who add at least a bit more than stupid "bash me" bosses? (I know scripting in skyrim is really bad and without real trigger support it'll take a long time to actually make some more complex boss enemies, but there is not even an alpha out there, every dungeon mod is the same boring crap over again... In Oblivion there were at least a few scripted Mods which had hard and complex bosses over a few phases.
Roarke Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Not dungeon bosses but bosses anyway, Dragon Combat Overhaul by Apollodown changes the way dragons behave during combat. As you know, most dragons can be bashed to stop them from using their dragon breath, this mod stops that from stunning them. It also stops dragons from being critically wounded at quarter health and be forced to land. Dragons are given a unique ability to send players flying during takeoff and when they stomp their tail on the ground. The mod author gave them a unique AI that makes them flee if you overpower them, or worse, call for backup and have you fight two dragons! It also changes unique dragons like Alduin into more deadly dragons that require more strategic combat to bring down. I tried this mod once and liked how harder it was kill a dragon, but I found the tail whip spam to be annoying. This mod is scripted, so if you plan to use it, save before you activate it, and revert to it if you decide to remove the mod. Don't be afraid to run away from dragons!
lidowxxx Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 +1 for DCO. As for boss fights, check out this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40491/? It's not just the usual hp/damage buff, It adds lots of new abilities and perks to bosses which makes them a lot more challenging, and it doesn't use script, a big plus in my book.
magnusx Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I use Asis, revenge of the enemy, skyre, erso, and all in legendary, no fight is lame now, even just a pack of wolfs XD
restrictive Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 With SkyRe you also get restore over time on potions so the days of "health spam" are over.
akroma3310 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Skyrim's combat system doesn't lend itself well to complex, challenging boss fights that involve a ''smart'' AI rather than just a lot of HP and DMG.
hestial Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Maybe not everything you're looking for but I think it's a pretty neat overhaul to skyrim creatures, dragons and bosses, and to realism too. http://erkeilmods.altervista.org/skyrim/r-s-o/
Keyboard Warrior Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19281/? This. All of this. I cannot play Skyrim without this mod installed. It makes combat MUCH more realistic; no more hitting an enemy 50 times, and no more taking 50 hits; combat is pretty quick and brutal, now, and each hit could fuck you up really badly. At the very least, give it a try; you'd love it, especially the dragons, which are now uberscary.
