Mod to change camera behavoir?

Going to reminisce about New Vegas again.  So, in New Vegas, the camera stayed behind you, just like in Skyrim.  But if you held down the middle mouse button, you could rotate the camera around to the front of your character (or wherever).  Skyrim lets you do this if you're standing still and not in combat, but once you move, it reverts to behind your character.  In New Vegas, as long as you keep that button held down, the camera's nautical position stays where you dictate with the mouse, while you're free to move your character about with the keyboard.

This was handy for, well, taking a look at the front of your character while they move about.  And boy do I miss this functionality.

I want to point out that the "360 Walk and Run Plus" mod is not really what I'm talking about.  Said mod sacrifices some aspects of character animation (running backwards, running left/right with the head fixated forward, etc.) in order to achieve what it does.  I'd be looking not to compromise animations in that way.  And apparently you can't use custom animations with it anyway.

Lots of different female walk/run animations (like TBBP anims) add the 360 camera functionality. Of course you can't use sprint while the camera is in front of the character, though.

There is a console command alternative... "animcam" ...that allows total movement of the camera while not effecting what the character does.

What Gvman says. I personally use the walking from here, rest from here, plus my own idle, usually one of these.

Works like a real 3rd person game mostly. But only out of combat. And since I personally like those animations, I havent found the need of use any other, but of course if you like any other animation not supporting 360 movements, you're stuck with vanilla mechanics.

The combat it's pretty much hardcoded to be a 1st person 'shooter', so what you ask it's quite impossible unless you mod the combat mechanics into another completely thing, not reliying in the recticle but in actual hitboxes, ala Dark Souls, Vindictus, whatever. That's it, a mod that make Elder Scrolls combat good :P

If you only want the vanity function, not for actually combat but to take a look from time to time, there's, though, a little mod that allows you to have a key to 'release' the camera in any situation, but it's very disfunctional and it's pretty much an extension for screenshots or stuff like that, to make poses of your weapon draw, etc. This one is: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20433/?

I've used it , works quite good with and without 360 animations, since you only need it with your weapon draw, where all anims are forcefully 1st person like.

edit (uh, i didnt read completely the previous post, anicam is preciselly the mod I linked)

There's a real reason for the 3rd person camera being officialy denominated vanity camera, and it's because it wasn't meant to be played with it. It's mean to take a look as your character, to see your new armors and stuff. For example, forget about the combat. The game lacks of tons of necessary animations, so for example when you climb a mountain your character floats over the edges, and stuff like that.

So advice: take one of the 360º or learn how to port your preferred anims to 360, put player headtracking, and enjoy while out of combat.
