hot8rodz Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Did you install FNIS and the animation packs and then run FNIS?  If so post the text it gives after running it. No I have not download FNIS, I will try that, but I have the Animation packs. I have come to the conclusion that Eternal Black - Immersive bodies' mod and GSDWithJudahMod make me crash at title screen. ~~~~~ I have downloaded and installed FNIS, this is what came up: >>Warning: Bad installation. Generator not run from a Skyrim installation directory.<< FNIS Behavior V4.1.1  2/25/2014 3:29:12 PM Skyrim: ??.?? - Generator: C:\Users\Luke v\Downloads\FNIS Behavior V4_1_1 -- ALWAYS necessary-11811-4-1-1\FNIS Behavior 4.1.1\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users Skeleton female: Default (99 bones)  male: Default (99 bones)  Reading FNIS ... carnifex Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Install FNIS in your Skyrim directory so it can see the mods you have installed. Make sure to install the creature addon for FNIS before running it. Â You absolutely have to run FNIS after installing any mod that adds new animations. Â Also, install the XPMS skeleton -Â http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/676-xp32-maximum-skeleton-extended/ Â Â

srayesmanll Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Follow the instructions exactly for installing FNIS. It looks like you are trying to run the Generator from where you unzipped it, not from the data folder where it needs to be installed. If you are installing it manually, follow the instruction on the FNIS page at Nexus exactly - look in the section labeled: Manual Installation (extended). Or you can use NMM/WryeBash to install. If you are using Mod Organizer, there are specific instructions on how to install FNIS properly and run it with MO. You'll need to search here and on Nexus for that info, the FNIS page does not have those special instructions.

nutluck Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You have to install the FNIS is the data folder of skyrim. The FNIS text you pasted here says you put it in the wrong spot. You have to put FNIS in the correct place and then run FNIS from that location.

nutluck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Your best bet is to use the Nexus Mod Manger or other such program, they make installing all mods a lot easier. Using it and it will install the mod in the correct location. Then go to your skyrim folder inside of steam to Data/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users and run FNIS from there.

srayesmanll Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I am not sure how much clearer it can be made. From the FNIS description:   Manual Installation (extended)Note: there are many ways to manually install. This is "my way": Create a temporary directory <temp_dir> (name of your choice) Download FNIS Behavior V4_1 -- ALWAYS necessary into <temp_dir> If you want to use Creature Animation mods: Download Creature Pack V4_1 into <temp_dir> Download FNIS Idle Spells V4_0_2 -- ADD-ON for the spells into <temp_dir> Open and extract FNIS Spells 4.1.2.7z with your favorite archive program (e.g. 7zip) into into <temp_dir> Open and extract Creature Pack V4.1.7z into into <temp_dir> Open and extract FNIS Behavior 4.1.7z into into <temp_dir> - Say "Yes" when asked to "Integrate...". Now you should have a "<temp_dir>/Data" folder with 3 subfolders: "Meshes", "Tools", And "Scripts". Drag and drop the <temp_dir>/Data folder into your Skyrim installation directory (usually C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim). Say "Yes" when asked "Overwrite?", or when asked to "Integrate..." Install other FNIS dependant mods (see mod list above) Goto to your Skyrim Installation directory, and from there to Data/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users Start (double-click) GenerateFNISforUsers.exe (part of FNIS Behavior) ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, or NOTHING works Select necessary Behavior patches in the Possible Patches field (make sure you have the patched mod installed!) Click Update FNIS Behavior (this will create your installation-specific behavior files) Click Behavior Consistence Check (optional, checks if new mods have defined inconsitent stuff) Click Exit. Say "Yes" when asked to "Create a shortcut on your desktop?" (strongly recommended, you will need the generator quite frequently) Start Steam and click "Play" In "Data Files" tick FNISSpells.esp  It's right there in the instructions. Drag the "Data" folder from wherever you extracted it to your skyrim installation folder. It will ask you to overwrite. To paraphrase one of the Ghostbusters (RIP Dr. Egon Spengler/Harold Ramis - you will be missed): "When windows asks if you want to overwrite, you... say... YES!" Â

nutluck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Creature pack is under the optional files on the same page you downloaded FNIS. It is called FNIS Creature pack 4.1 it is a 7zip file so after you download it it will add the .7z to the end because it is a zip file. Just install it exactly the same way you did FNIS and once you do then run FNIS again.
srayesmanll Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 1) Where is your skyrim installed on your computer? Normally it is " C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim ", but depending on where you installed it, it can be anywhere. 2) When you find it, is there a folder called "data" inside it?    If you cannot answer either one of these questions, then you should not be trying to manually install anything, let alone FNIS. Grab a mod manager - NMM, WryeBash, or Mod Organizer. MO has a bit of a learning curve especially using it with FNIS but is highly recommended by those who use it, but I'd suggest NMM or WryeBash to start. Go to Nexus to find any one of these.    3) When you download FNIS, you will need to unzip it. Wherever you unzip it, there will be a FNIS folder ( probably "FNIS Behavior 4.1" or "FNIS Behavior 4.1.1", but not sure). 4) In the unzipped folder there is a folder called "data". 5) Drag that folder into your skyrim folder, where there is already a folder called data. 6) When you drop the data folder, it will ask you to overwrite. Again, you...say...YES. 7) You can do the same with the FNIS creature pack (unzip, find the "data" folder, drag and drop the "data" folder into the skyrim folder. overwrite). 8) You do not need the FNIS spells, it is a sample pack of dance animations. You only need if you have a mod that replaces some of the dance animations with other animations. However, no one should really be doing that. If you do really want or need the FNIS spells, the same instructions apply (unzip, find, drag, drop, overwrite=yes). Again, the spells are not necessary to use FNIS, they are just examples.  9) Now, go into the skyrim folder, then into the "data" folder. There should be a "tools" folder. Go into the "tools" folder and there should be a "Generate for Users" (or similar name) folder. Go into that folder. Now double click the Generator application and do what you need to in the Generator. If there are any errors, you can post them here for further help, although most are self-explanatory. nutluck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 This warning  >>Warning: Generator not run from a legal (Steam) Skyrim installation directory.<<  often means it is not a legal copy of Skyrim and many mods won't work on hacked copies. So if you have a hacked copy that is likely the reason why you are having problems.

nutluck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Well like I said it often means that. Didn't say always, but for what ever reason FNIS seems to think something is fishy with your Skyrim and that is likely part of if not all of the problem.

hot8rodz Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 How do I merge this with the other mods.. AKA Beastiality.
