If anyone needs to know Im running

  • SKSE Version: 0.1.6.16

anyhoo, heres what BOSS found:

  • Skyrim.esm Active
  • Update.esm Active
    • Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}}
    • Contains dirty edits: 92 ITM, 3 UDR records. Needs TES5Edit cleaning. A cleaning guide is available here.

(Imay be able to solve this one)

Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp Active

  • Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}}

(I can solve this one)

  • Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp Active
    • Error: SPIKE.esm is not present or is not active. Skyrim will CTD when loading if using this file without it.
    • Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}}

(Not sure why this one has a problem)

  • ethereal_elven_overhaul.esp Active
    • Contains dirty edits: 6 ITM, 0 UDR records. Needs TES5Edit cleaning. A cleaning guide is available here.

Do you have all the DLCs? Some of the problems you've been having could very well be dependencies on those addons and if you don't have them then trouble will surely follow. Be sure to mods you're using are compatible with the version of the game and the addons you're using (or not using). Read the descriptions on EVERYTHING before installing.

FYI on Immersive Armors, version 7 doesn't require SPIKE.esm and since they are in the middle of moving to BOSS v3.0 and haven't updated the masterlists since the 24th of Jan. you can safely ignore that BOSS warning.

Well, I think it actuallly gave me problems in the past.

Anyhoo, I dont have any of the DLCs but, anytime I see a mod that requires say, Dawnguard, I dont download it.

I know Ive been (unintentionally) spamming the boards with help requests (sorry) modding is brand new to me, this is the first PC game Ive played (and its only been about a week). Im learning but sometimes stuff still doesnt make sense to me. Like I load a game, it runs fine, I install a new mod, it crashes. I uninstall the new mod I added, load the game, and still crashes. Its very confusing to me why its doing that sometimes.

Just removing mods doesn't fix any problems in most cases, at least when you're using mods that contain scripts. Scripted mods are basically anything that changes functionality in the game, like adding immersive patrols/creatures, adding footsteps in the snow, Frostfall is a mod that's scripted as is RND and countless others. If you remove a mod that contains scripts the mod is never truly gone since those (now missing) scripts are still running in the background.

The best thing to do is to not remove mods. If you absolutely do have to remove them then you also have to go back to a game save that existed before that mod was installed (it's the only way to not have those scripts stuck in your save).

Here are some videos that every new game modder/player should watch. PLEASE do yourself a favor and watch these. Most of your questions will be answered before you need to ask them. ;) Here's the first video, just watch the following episodes that come up in the right pane.

I did everything this guy suggested, even verifying the cache, now when I got to reclean with TES5EDIT, I get this:

Fatal: Could not open registry key: \SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim\

This can happen after Steam updates, run game's launcher to restore registry settings
