Followers face down after being clobbered - Defeat or Submit?

Sometimes when my followers get hit too hard, they just fall immediately flat on their faces and are out of the picture for a while (until all unfriendlies are gone). I have both Defeat and Submit installed. What is causing this anim?

Sounds like they were weakened enough for Defeat to kick in.

Yeah, but when Defeat kicks in they get knocked down and then raped. They are "planking" the ground. My theory is that the hit was extremely hard and took them down below 0 HP and it was too fast for Defeat to catch it for a rape animation.

Are they ragdolling or is it an actual animation? Keep in mind that some combat mods allow you to strike your enemies down (and vice versa) knocking them off balance but not necessarily killing them, they can get back up.

No rag doll, no transition. They go from standing up and fighting to flat on their stomachs, and they don't move. They appear dead. But after all the baddies are dead, they get up again.

Obviously you'll want to make a backup save before going through with this.

 

Once you do that I'd start uninstalling submit and/or defeat and see if it goes away. Once you find the culprit the next step is solving the issue at which point you should contact the author.
