Would like to reduce the max weight of my body mod

The body at max weight is to big so i want to make its 60% weight the new 100% for it.  I have bodyslide 2 and 3dsmax if those would help, i really dont know what to do...

Make a weight slider in BodySlide.

Load up your Min weight as reference, load up your Max wight as outfit

Shape -> Export to .obj and name it

Start a new project, Load your min weight as reference, don't load an outfit yet

Slider -> New Slider, name it 'weight' or something

Highlight (pencil button) the slider

Slider -> Import Slider data from .obj and select your previously exported .obj file

Voila, you have a working weight slider that somewhat mimics in-game.

File -> Load outfit, select your max weight again

Slider -> Conform all

MOVE slider to desired weight percentage (Note: Make sure slider is UN-HIGHLIGHTED!)

Slider -> Set Base Shape

File -> Export .nif

Congratulations! (Sorry for messy layout and stuff, I really will make a proper tutorial when I get some time)

Oh yea, make sure you export the weight slider at some point, you know in case you ever want to go back...

Edit: this is all under the assumption that both the min and max weights have the same vertex order...

omg i will totaly watch and or read that tutorial it sounds amazing.  both the 0% body and 100% body have 6512 polygons if that works for the vertex order.  if i get this working would you know how to skin it in 3ds max?

Dunno why you would need to skin it again?

But basically BodySlide has a rebuild skin partition function built into it (albeit slightly buggy because it uses the XPMS skeleton, but you can swap that out if you need to)

Just right click your mesh in Outfit Studio in the mesh tab and it should have an option 'rebuild skin partitions', though really, I dunno why you would need to re-skin it?

As for my legit tutorial, I meant it more in a something to get done in like 2 weeks xD, I'm too backed up on stuff I need to do (my own mod, another experimental project and then finally the unofficial OS tutorials, that's not including learning 3DSMax and RL)

ok ill read that, yea i load the min as the reference and go through the steps then after makeing a slider and try importing the obj it says vertices dont match, i did check both bodys and they do have the same vertices hopefully ive just screwed something up and figure it out from your tut

You need to make sure the vertex order matches as well with the bodies.

I.E. you didn't cut/copy/paste/remove some vertices while you made the max weight. The order of created vertices remained the same and all you did between the weights was move/transform them.

I dunno how to manually edit vertex order, though I recently found out that you can view them in nifskope

Thank you sir it works!!! my problem was my max weight body must have had the vertice order messed up when i was useing it for armors in 3ds max, so i downloaded the body mod again and started with fresh nifs from it did your process and it works!! tyty

ops one last problem im haveing.  i have the slider working but when i click the "set base shape" button (even when unhighlighted) the body reverts to 0 weight and the exported nif also is at 0 weight

Heres what im doing...

the body works ingame but i want to reduce its max weight setting to 60% of what it is like in the pic.

Screenshot_1_zpsac446da0.png

first i opened the outfit studio and imported the 100% weight body nif as a outfit

Screenshot_2_zpsd471c444.png

then i exported the outfit (shape) as a obj

Screenshot_3_zps5f938c87.png

next i start a fresh outfit studio window and load the 0% weight body as a reference

Screenshot_4_zps8a70d33a.png

i create a new slider...

Screenshot_5_zps88ab5437.png

highlight it and import the slider data, the 100% weight body obj (femalebody_1.obj)

Screenshot_6_zps5607edec.png

next i click slider conform all

Screenshot_7_zps08a6519f.png

then i unhighlight the slider and set it to 60%

i set the base shape

Screenshot_9_zps05088cde.png

and the body appears to be back at 0%

i then export it as a nif under export current

and then i check the exported nif with nifskope

Here ya go (at least I think this is the body you used?)

As for a tutorial....

It's almost done, just a few more edits and it'll be uploaded (I like to only release somewhat decent-quality guides so people know what their doing..)

Oh yea, should mention that this body is under the assumption that you were using ravensaw's body... (at least it looked like it to me)
