DLSS 5 in Sims 4 is amazing.

Leaked DLSS 5 seems to work very good for people already using alpha cc, and it's also improving contact shadows and ambient occlusion on the sims accessories like jewelry, clothes, between close body parts like breasts, legs, etc.

On some sims its changing the face a lot meanwhile on others its only doing shading enhancement.

Also enhances the lighting in the world without issues of MXAO and barely any performance hit on a easy to run game like Sims 4.

Yes, I've been experimenting with low intensity of it. I don't like full AI enshitification of it but moderate amount looks interesting to experiment.

Yea, i am liking the contact shadows and ambient occlusion it adds to everything. MXAO always gave issues with alpha hair. If only there was a way to max out the shading stuff while keeping face stuff on low.

Definately. But its really heavy on the graphics card. You really need something close to the 5k generation or one of those.

This is a comparison image taken on an RTX 40-series GPU. It doesn’t change the Sim’s face that much, although we’ll have to wait for better updates

I don't like it, I won't use it, and I don't think this crap should be the future of anything...but I wouldn't be mad if devs made an hypothetical The Sims 5 look like the last one with real human work (og in the spoiler for comparison)

Agreed... it's just unfortunate that it's so hard on graphics cards though... I have a 4080, and it is definitely sweating when I run DLSS 5...

There's a one click DLSS 5 installer on Github. Already had Reshade installed so it just worked in few clicks.

It was a leaked .dll made for another game so it's just a sneak peak and definitely not catered to Sims art style. Maybe in future we'll have options to tweak specific things as i am liking it a lot for lighting enhancements on older games. If only there was an option to avoid changing faces.  As a lot of older games don't need graphical remasters from Devs anymore specially the racing games as there are no faces to ruin anything.

Ok, that's the one I used as well, though I noticed that mine has a few options that yours doesn't, for example, an option to activate denoise before rendering.

 

By the way, what ReShade preset is that?

I tried it the next day of .dll getting leaked so maybe you have newer version.

ReShade preset is kindlespice - Dove 2.0.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out when I get home.

 

EDIT: Yes, thank you for turning me onto this preset. It looks amazing, and I've noticed that after activating DLSS 5 with the preset enabled it doesn't seem to be taxing my card as much, which I find kind of interesting.
