SSE/AE 94990abee-d01dc91261.clean/include/rel/id.h 219 error

After updating Skyrim SE/AE on Steam (latest version) and updating every major mod to said newest version as far as I know (SKSE, Address Library, both Papyrus, Engine Fixes, etc) I get the following error message. I am confused what I have either missed in updating or did wrong. Googling said error message did nothing.

Process Monitor from Sysinternals (Microsoft) will tell you where it expected the bin file to be.

Found that program. How do I use it? Never heard of it before

  1. When it starts, cancel out of the filter dialog.
  2. Hit Ctrl+E or click the toolbar button to turn off logging since it's on by default.
  3. Clear the log, or Ctrl+X.
  4. Disable registry, network, process and profiling events in the toolbar.
  5. Open the filter dialog again, or Ctrl+L.
  6. Add rules:
    1. <Process Name> <is> "SkyrimSE.exe" then <Include>
    2. <Path> <contains> ".bin" then <Include>
  7. Enable logging.
  8. Start SkyrimSE.exe. It will be much slower to start because of the logger, so just wait.
  9. Wait for the error popup. Don't close the popup.
  10. Stop logging in Process Monitor.
  11. Close the error popup.
  12. Analyze the log for where it expected to find the Address Library bin file, and what the expected file name was.

Whatever you do, don't upload Process Monitor logs UNFILTERED here. They contain far more information than you might assume.

A number of mods are still not updated for the latest version of Skyrim. The latest update is a "breaking" update, which requires ALL skse mods to be recompiled for Skyrim 1.7+

It's extremely likely that you're simply using a mod that has not updated since the release of Skyrim 1.7

Doing all this with SkyrimSE.exe starts up the game albeit slowly. The error appeared with SKSE.

Sure but what about the procmon log? Which bin file is it looking for?

I am probably doing something completely wrong, because it shows absolutely nothing after I double checked all steps above and opened the SkyrimSE.exe in Skyrim's install folder.

One other thing, I have updated some more mods (from the dll's mentioned in the error message) and now I get the same error message, but with the nirnlabuiplatform.dll instead of crashlogger.dll

Not sure where that is from (I have an entire folder of this in my Skyrim SE folder), as I had never downloaded the associated mod with the same name (and would have been outdated anyway with its last update in april). Was it part of SKSE's own stuff?

Either that or the error message is lying and it never even checked for the bin files, i.e. there's a hardcoded maximum version number in Address Library and when it sees SkyrimSE.exe being above that it just defaults to "yeah not even gonna try".

If that's the case though it makes me wonder why they even bothered making the bin files separate.

Edit: Could be Bethesda scrambled the exe again like they did in 1.5 -> 1.6. In that case Address Library wasn't even loading, which would explain why procmon isn't seeing anything. You'll know the answer to this if all dll containing mods stopped working completely with the change to 1.7.

That is most likely what it would have come down to anyways.

Having a dll in your game that you don't know where it came from is really dangerous. Even more so if you also run Skyrim or your mod manager with elevated privileges; in that case I hope you don't do banking (or other important/personal stuff) on that same computer.

Your mod manager knows which mod it came from.

I am aware it's really dangerous.

I have never downloaded mods from questionable sources (only directly from like here or Nexus) and I don't put anything directly in my Skyrim folder outside an SKSE or maybe something else that only works by being put directly in the game folder (or its data folder). I even had never heard of said mod.

Is MO2 really able to know? The files were in my game folder, not my MO2 folder. I did find the mod it's supposed to belong to, but I had no download history with it.

But SKSE is complaining when the dll is missing, but at the same time doesn't open when I do have the dll active. Original mod is what I believe to be this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/125447

In that case no.

I was digging some deeper in my folders. I noticed the data tab in MO2 is missing the two latest 1.7 versions of the bin in the plugin tab

While this is the explorer of the installed Address Library with both 1.7 versions in it

Honestly no idea how. I downloaded and installed the mod from Nexus via MO2, like I did with the previous versions.

Options for that:

  1. The Data tab is filtered to exclude the 1.7 versions.
  2. The mod containing the 1.7 versions is not activated.
  3. The bin files you're viewing in the Data tab reside in a different folder from where the 1.7 version are.

Run the Explorer++ app included in MO2, through MO2, if you want to see your file system as the game sees it in a more familiar GUI.

Mod is enabled.

Where do I find that app within MO2?

Same place where you launch the game or any other tool.

If for some reason it's not there then add it:

...\MO\explorer++\Explorer++.exe

Found it. Just always glossed over it. It directly goes into my data tab of my Skyrim folder. How do I explore the right location to see about the bin situation?

As long as the path where Address Library expects to find its bin files hasn't changed, it's: Data\SKSE\Plugins\*.bin

All are there as far as I can tell, including the 1.7 ones.
