Pkatt Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Ok, I'm posting here just in case someone will happen to think of something that I haven't thought of yet, because I'm totally confused. Week or so ago, I switched from NMM to MO. I installed MO and it worked fine, until I found I couldn't download mods manually to it. I had put in my Nexus username, and password, and that part worked fine. I asked about that on here, and couple great people answered, and correctly identified my problem as the UAC because I had installed MO in the programs directory. I installed another version of MO outside of programs, and started moving the few mods I had installed over, and it worked perfectly -except- NOW, I can download anything I want manually, but the Nexus part won't work. LOL. Now as I read, some folks would think this might be a good thing, but it does seem right handy for MO to be able to see the Nexus and version numbers and stuff. It appears that it is just not able to log in to the Nexus. I "think" that I read somewhere that MO doesn't like Nexus passwords over 6 characters, but I'm not sure. Even if that is true, the part that is confusing me is that my Nexus username or password has NOT changed. The same name and password worked fine from MO when it was in the programs directory, but it does not work now. Yet I can log into the Nexus fine, manually. Thinking that I had read something about that 6 character limit, I thought what the heck, I'll go change the Nexus password and just see if that helps. I start looking in the Nexus user profile and stuff, and I can't see anywhere on there that you actually change your password?! So, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be appreciative.
judge0 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Under Settings, Workaround tab, did you change nmm version to 0.47.0 as suggested by readme? Nexus has dropped support for earlier NMM versions now . . .
gvman3670 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 And there's been a couple "fixes" out for NMM already, in like a day, so it's version 0.47.2 now!
Pkatt Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Apparently that was it! Thank you both!!! So you have to keep the NMM version there updated at all times? And, sorry for another dumb question, but, where is the readme? I haven't read it, nor can I seem to find it? Its not in my directory. I've just been looking at the guide on S.T.E.P., the tutorials, and reading and asking stuff on this board.
judge0 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Evidently there isn't one . . . It is mentioned on S.T.E.P. and the comments thread on Nexus
gvman3670 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Yeah, you have to keep MO updated to the most current version of NMM for it to download/install direct. I don't use that feature anyway. I always manually download so I have a copy of the mods in zipped format to use whenever I like or need them. And if it's something that comes up missing, as is often the case, I can share it, too.
Pkatt Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 I'm finding myself starting to download them manually also. This one wasn't gonna be a major thing, it was just sort of aggravating me because when I click on info, it has a place to show the Nexus info page, for that particular mod's load orders and tips, without me having to go open a browser and look it up. Also it seems to keep up with the version numbers if I put the Nexus id in, manually. But neither of those were working, obviously, if it couldn't connect. I do try to read up as much as I can before asking, I just missed this one. I greatly appreciate both of your help, and quick responses!!
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 uhm ... manual, eh? ... just for your info ---> *CLICK*
gvman3670 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I just noticed NMM is already up to version 0.47.3! LMMFAO!!
Vancien Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I started using MO and less than 24 hours later it wouldn't download from Nexus anymore using that feature. Come to find out, NMM got updated and I could care less after becoming comfortable doing it the old fashioned way. You know, hard labor? Anyway, 6 in one hand half a dozen in the other. It's no sweat really.
