CAS bullshitery??

Hi everyone, I recently started playing The Sims 4 after a wave of nostalgia for The Sims 3 lololol. Well, I never have the patience to create characters from scratch, so I usually just hit "randomize" until something I like pops up; then I tweak it a bit and start the game (^_^) BUT something caught my attention during the randomization process: for some reason, 9 times out of 10, the character shows up with dark skin (I'm Black, btw)..... WHY???? Did this only happen to me? Are the creators pushing agendas in a life simulation game?? WTF is going on??? I don't like playing with very dark-skinned Sims because it's hard to see the details. PS: Why does The Sims 4 seem to have worse gameplay than its predecessor, The Sims 3?
PPS: I actually counted, and at one point I had to randomize 25 times just to get a "light-skinned" character O_o

Oh, even in the suggested scenario modes, most of them feature dark-skinned characters too.🙃

Gambler's fallacy. I rarely roll dark skin on my randoms, so unless you've got mods that are skewing the selectable skintones, you're just surfing the tail of the curve.

Because it was an MMO hastily repacked as a flagship release, and its decade-plus of addons has turned it into a bloated chimera of spaghetti code. The only reason I even got it was for the sexmods, and with Paralives gone gold and much more mod-friendly, we'll see how long that appeal lasts.

I always roll freaky looking characters when I randomize. Like absurdly proportioned. Like if Gru lived in San Francisco. Oddly shaped body, every piercing, randomly colored hair with mismatched eyebrows, and it's always the worst of the available hairstyles. Their clothes are awful, too. Like the wardrobe designer from the more recent Dr. Who series' was in charge of deciding it.

Because human beings are very bad at judging randomness. We tend to assume randomness means getting a different result every time, but in reality, streaks can definitely occur. 

Also, your being supposedly black doesn't make this post sound any less racially loaded. Leaping to the assumption that the game is trying to "push an agenda" from something as miniscule as CAS randomization says more about you than anything else.
