[mod] Court Whores

I'm trying to edit the files to allow for more than five court whores. The Stud is easy to change, I just have to change 'max_available_positions' to whatever value I want, but that is not enough for the court whore position. What other file do I need to change?

You need to change basegame/mod file of 00_defines.txt as well -  MAX_NUMBER_IN_COURT_POSITION

Tried playing the Iranian Intermezzo with this installed:  It renders the recommended characters unplayable.  If you have a liege, no matter how good or bad your relationship is, he WILL make you his court whore after a few years of play.  You lose, your run is effectively over.

My liege is forcing me always to be a court whore is it possible to disable or avoid it? Its getting annoing to get used by the whole realm lol.

My character experienced the same thing despite not having any known crimes, not having rebelled, not being lustful while being on very friendly terms with her liege.  The only thing that stood out was that her military forces were weak and that was quite unfair as she lost her soldiers joining her liege's war.

Having that rule as an option would make sense but if there is a way to keep it from happening all the time, no matter what, that is better to do.

 

For most games, leaving the risk of players being reduced to a CW keeps things balanced since players are able to impose that status on others.

 

In a world with CWs, being forced to serve as a CW is a known price for women who rebel against their liege or commit crimes and helps uphold the unfair system they live in and players are part of that world.

 

Players who follow the rules should mostly be able to avoid being made into CWs and the mod might need to adjusted if it is almost always making making female characters suffer that fate no matter how loyal and law abiding they are.

 

Making things too safe can be boring and everything being fair and safe is not how things happen in a world so dark that people can often be forced to be a CW in the first place.

 

There might be times where getting made a CW can happen to your character unfairly and  it could make for a great story provided there is still a clear reason it happened. 

 

A sadistic, cruel, wrathful or vengeful ruler might degrade a vassal that way if they have a low opinion of her or some kind of conflict with her and ideally that should be considered an act of tyranny that hurts opinion for them. Tyrants abusing innocent noblewomen has led to a number of rebellions in history and a few of them even succeeded.

@Darktod I could not see the individual modifiers for recently tortured and for in dungeon and initially thought they were not factoring in (as only all caps text was visible without the relevant nuymbers) but I think it took a moment to show up in the total modifier because the total bonus change.  Most other negative modifiers against accepting prison recruitment are still too powerful so for example, if someone is highborn and married, it is hard to overcome, even if you stack those two modifiers.  Still it is more realistic so someone who is single etc. might be forced more easily which is more realistic.  Not sure if craven vs brave is playing into prison recruitment or not.  

 

This is good mod though.

I almost never get counties even if the lord agrees immideatly without terms.

Only the "agree to serve as breeder" gets me a county.

In 1.4.4 there are actually three different requests during the audience.

Ask for a County can directly grant you a county from your liege's personal domain.

Ask for Support for a Claim gives you a pressed claim on a county inside your liege's realm.

Ask Leave to Wage War works differently: if you're already landed, you can select a neighboring county inside your liege's own realm. If the petition succeeds, you receive a pressed claim on that county and a favor hook on your liege, which vanilla's declare-war logic can use when vassal wars require permission.

So the Breeder option isn't a special way of getting a county — it's one of the possible prices your liege can demand for granting the petition. If you asked for a county and agree to serve as a Breeder, you get the requested boon and then owe a year of Breeder service.

My succubus and vampire would probably call it a promotion.

I may have been a little biased there, though. I'll rebalance the AI so it doesn't treat every player character as the realm's most valuable public servant.

Thanks, this was very useful feedback. Brave is already taken into account during prison recruitment (-50 acceptance), while craven currently doesn't have its own modifier. I may add a smaller positive modifier for craven.

I also found the reason AI lieges have been targeting player characters too aggressively. There is currently a very large player-specific AI candidate bonus in 1.4.4, which makes the player the preferred Court Whore candidate whenever they become eligible. I'll rebalance this rather than simply making the player completely immune, and I'll likely add a game rule for players who want full protection.

Yeah, but sometimes he agrees immideatly when I ask for a country and I get nothing. Same with the seduce option

I haven't fixed that CTD yet. I've been distracted experimenting with a CK3 ↔ Unreal Engine idea.

I'm still at the JSON stage — basically testing whether CK3 data could be exported to JSON, read by Unreal Engine to run a scene, and eventually send the result back. So I haven't had time to properly investigate that particular CBO event path yet.

Have about 71 mods downloaded (Meaning load time for the game is about 20 minutes, but the game consistently crashes when I have a carnal relief event fire, have the option to skip or continue, and hit continue. Hitting continue always crashes the game. This seems to consistently happen with while playing a female ruler even with events involving a male courtier and female CW. Also, again, a lot of mods.

Love the mod, but the 'Request Audience with My Liege' hasn't been working for me. The decision is never available and when I try to use it, the tooltips are messed up and it doesn't tell me *why* I can't do it, either. Anyone else having this issue?

Found a weird bug. Somehow I always imprison my CWs after some time without me doing anything.

You have what i can only assume to be a bug in the court whore selection process. It also explains why people are getting forced into court whores in the first place.

My afforementioned bug is the reason why people are having a bad time, so until the patch, everyone can just delete that line without any issues.

Does that explain why my char is made court whore without any crimes? I can't even as for a pardon so I'm stuck in the position as CW.

I made another patch so that this mod works properly for Love reimagined. This should fix constant cheating/bastard events with court whores. Available on the dowloads page of my mod.
