FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Hey! I'm not sure if this query will make a great deal of sense, but here goes: I would like to know if it is possible (and easy) to remove, or disable, a BBP effect on a skeleton. The reasons for this are pretty simple, although I understand any answer may not be. Here's the background: I make my armours for the SeveNBase body in 3dsMax using "Custom Skeleton Replacer" Basic 6 skeleton, because it works perfectly in Max with no problems, and matches my very basic physics mods choices (Realistic Ragdolls, Reduced, is the only physics mod I use). XPMS does not. HOWEVER, in-game, I use XPMS because doing so *breaks* the BBP effect. I do not actually want BBP (a cast iron breastplate does not bounce around), so this works well as a jerry-rigged solution. The problem is, XPMS badly distorts to whole area around the chest, especially the weighting around the underside of the bust, meaning that the results I actually end up playing the game with are less-than-optimal, and don't fully reflect the actual quality of the armour (as I see it). I would *REALLY* like to disable the BBP effect on this Basic 6 Custom Skeleton. Is there a way to do this? (*Please note "just use Vanilla" is not an option here, as SeveNBase *REQUIRES* either XPMS or Custom Skeleton Replacers).
Shocky Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 While I don't use any special skeleton in 3DS Max, I'm not sure how that would work on different skeletons, but If I don't want an armor to have BBP/TBBP effect, I simply delete the Breast bones and thats it, no bbp. Did you tried that?
Groovtama Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Don't install BBP animation, or don't rig the breast to the bones. Both disables BBP effects without making skeleton changes and thus no problems with armor incompatibilities.

Did you tried that? You use the Vanilla skeleton in Max with SeveNBase? When I tried this, all I got were crashes (this was very early in the learning process), and I was told that my SeveNBase stuff would not work unless it was actually made with a compatible skeleton. Can you just use basic vanilla? Don't install BBP animation, or don't rig the breast to the bones. Both disables BBP effects without making skeleton changes and thus no problems with armor incompatibilities. So for example, simply remove all of the breast weighting in Skin > Edit Envelopes > Vertices, Select breast bone, CTRL+A, & set the Abs. Effect to 0? Could I do it like that?

Groovtama Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Ahh other possibility I forgot install the HDT skeleton_female.hkx it also disables the BBP effect^^
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Okay - solved. Followed Groovetama's first tip & simply removed breast weighting. When I first began making these armours, I tried all sorts of things to fix breast weighting & this was one of them. However, as I was including a full BODY mesh in the armours at the time, the result was major clipping. I no longer include a full body inside my armours though - I remove as much of the body mesh as possible, so clipping should no longer be such an issue. Where I need to retain body meshes around that area, I can simply remove the bones as per Shocky's tip. Many thanks guys - excellent responses, and lightning quick too!! You rock!!
