OStim Defeat Bridge - Lightweight Human & Creature Defeat Scenes

View File

OStim Defeat Bridge is designed as a lightweight defeat mod without complex extra systems. It catches the defeat moment, tries to start a valid OStim / OCr scene with the actors involved, then returns the player to normal gameplay after the scene ends.

This is not a large defeat framework. It does not run multiple rounds from one defeat event, and it does not pick random actors from the whole area. The scene is built from the valid actors involved in the defeat moment, and the final result depends heavily on the OStim / OCr animation packs you have installed.

For the best experience, I strongly recommend using this together with Stage Flow for OStim Standalone.

Stage Flow can take over active OStim threads, choose a matching staged animation chain when possible, and guide the scene forward. This is especially helpful for OCr creature scenes and converted staged animation packs, because some scenes may not naturally reach a clean ending on their own.

If Stage Flow cannot find a suitable special chain, it can still fall back to normal available animations, so the scene does not have to fail just because a specific animation type is missing.

Key Features

* Catches many fatal player damage events and redirects them into an OStim / OCr scene instead of instant death.
* Handles the player downed state before scene startup.
* Can include one eligible female follower in supported setups.
* Supports female player / female victim scenarios with male humanoid aggressors.
* Supports OCr creature defeat scenes for the player.
* Can start separate creature scenes for the player and one eligible female follower when the setup is valid.
* Includes fallback and recovery logic for failed startup, invalid actors, interrupted scenes, and post-scene cleanup.
* Uses a native DLL for heavier actor scanning and fatal damage interception, reducing constant Papyrus workload.

Requirements

* SKSE.
* Address Library for SKSE Plugins.
* OStim Standalone 7.35+.
* OCr for creature scenes.
* Compatible OStim / OCr animation packs.
* Stage Flow for OStim Standalone is strongly recommended.

Compatibility / Limitations

* Tested on AE 1.6.1170.
* SE 1.5.97 should theoretically work with the correct SKSE / Address Library setup, but it has not been fully tested.
* The human branch is currently designed around female player / female victim + male humanoid aggressors.
* Male player + female humanoid aggressor support is not included in this version.
* Only one eligible female follower can be handled at a time.
* Scene availability depends on your installed OStim / OCr animation packs.
* Some animation combinations may fall back to simpler scenes if no matching staged chain exists.
* Mods that also intercept player death, bleedout, defeat, or fatal damage may conflict if they try to handle the same death event.

For best results, do not use multiple player death alternative or defeat bridge mods together unless their trigger conditions are clearly separated.

Can this be made to for instance have a female follower get knocked down while the player character is in the middle of a fight with another npcs enable the ostim scene between the female follower and the npc that knocked them down to begin mid combat?

From what I’ve observed, OStim scenes are very sensitive to active combat states. Starting a thread while nearby actors are still fighting can very easily lead to instability or even crashes.

That’s actually why my current start conditions are so strict: the mod only starts the scene when all detected hostile actors are no longer in combat. Your idea is definitely tempting, and I understand why it would be interesting, but making it work safely in the middle of combat would probably be much more complicated than it sounds.

Hey CB.... thanks for all the mods  you have here and at Nexus! You are in a select crowd of modders who are doing yeoman's work in developing OStim related mods. I like P+ ok but after working with both I think I prefer OStim. The only thing that has been missing is some of the LL only stuff like defeat mods and aggressive animations etc which is slowly getting resolved.

In about a month I am going to embark on another modlist from scratch using all I have learned so far and will be going with OStim SA exclusively I think. With that in mind you are definately one of the devs I am following closely.

That you have come out with this mod at this time is fortuitous indeed. Can I ask? What are your plans regarding this mod? You have stated in the description that this is designed as a "lightweight" mod. Do you have plans to take it further from there? I only ask because there is a very big need for a modern working OStim centered defeat mod. I have tried several of the ones for SL and found PD Reanimated to be the best so far... but there are others available..... but the only thing available for OStim has been OSimpleDefeat (as well as OSimpleAssault) which are several years old at this point and I am not sure there will be any others. I have gotten it to work before but have read of others having problems with it especially lately.

Do you plan on this being less "Lightweight" and supporting some of the things say a PD Reanimated does? I see you have integrated this into your stage flow mod... what about your Post Scene After Care mod? I think it would fit... think of tears after the assault etc.

Anyways... thanks again for all your work. I will be following your career with great interest :)

I like how quick it is, haven't played with it much yet, but compatibility option to turn off certain actors from defeat is great as I'm also running Acheron. So far it seems like enabling more than 2 actors is a bad idea with OCreatures given we have limited animation packs available.

I'm on 1.5.97 version of the game, works fine.

Hey, thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it.

For Post-Scene Aftercare, the current events are still mostly designed around romantic or consensual OStim scenes: recovery, resting, redressing, and making the end of a scene feel less abrupt.

But I do think you are right that defeat events probably need their own kind of aftermath. The tone is different, so I do not think simply reusing the current romantic aftercare events would be the best fit.

I am interested in exploring that direction, but I have not found the right gameplay idea yet. I would rather wait until I find something that feels meaningful and interesting, instead of adding a simple forced follow-up just for the sake of having one.

So for now, this mod will stay focused on post-scene aftercare, but I am definitely paying attention to what kind of aftermath systems would actually make sense for an OStim-centered setup.

Yes, the compatibility option was mainly added for setups like yours, especially when running Acheron or another defeat-style mod alongside this one.

I also agree about OCreatures. With the current creature animation coverage, 2 actors is probably the safer choice for now. I may adjust the actor weighting for creature scenes later, so there is a higher chance that only one actor is allowed to participate.

And thanks for confirming that it works on 1.5.97. That is very helpful.

Hi! I have a question: Is your mod compatible with the Wildcat Combat mod? I came across a bug that sometimes causes an NPC to float through the air after being defeated, while I'm standing in the right position — what could be the reason for this? Also, which animations work best with your aggressive mods? Could you give me a link?

Hi! I have not used Wildcat Combat myself, so I have not been able to reproduce this issue yet.

Could you describe the situation in a little more detail? For example: was it a human or creature scene, how many actors were involved, and did the floating happen before the scene started or after it ended? A short video uploaded to YouTube would also be very helpful if possible.

For animations, I personally use Anub’s animation packs, so you can try those first. In general, multi-stage aggressive animations work best with my related mods.

Well, I have this mistake at the very beginning of the scene, namely with people, like bandits. When the defeat scene starts, the NPC starts floating in the air, and my character's animation is working fine, but the NPC is floating in the air all the time and the animation is not working at all for the NPC at the moment.

This is great, ran through some tests and it works exactly as intended even with 4 actors or creatures. The only thing is that I cant really "die", id say a slider for a percentage chance of being killed as normal?

The underlaying purpose of these kind of mods is so that your save doesn't reload multiple times during the game session, potentially creating script issues. An alternative outcome would be more than welcome, a send off into Simple Slavery Plus Plus alone for me would be enough (doesn't make much sense with creatures, but whatever).

Could you describe the situation in a bit more depth? I’d like to focus especially on the exact starting node of the scene thread.
For instance, in your game setup, both you and the NPCs can be knocked back/blown away, right? Did the defeat thread happen to trigger mid-air, right during that knockback animation?

Haha, yes, that is actually very close to my original goal. I wanted every potential player death to be smoothly converted into an alternative outcome, so I spent a lot of time checking and patching the different engine paths that could lead to the player dying.

That said, I understand your point. If absolute death interception makes the gameplay feel too safe, I can add an **Intercept Chance** slider to the MCM in the next update. That would let you decide the chance of a fatal blow being intercepted by this mod versus allowing a normal native death to happen.

That makes sense, and that was one of the reasons I wanted this system to be handled as safely as possible.

The fatal-hit interception logic is handled directly inside the C++ DLL, with fallback and cleanup routines built around it. It does not rely on heavy Papyrus polling, repeated script attachments, or constantly running quest aliases to detect death states.

So in theory, this design should not create Papyrus stack buildup, dumped scripts, or save bloat from the death-interception system itself.

As for alternative outcomes, yes, that is definitely an interesting direction. A Simple Slavery Plus Plus handoff could make sense as an optional outcome for human defeat scenarios. But, Creature cases may need to be handled separately, since the context is a bit different.

Yeah I just came from using Yamete Redux and ODefeat. This mod is leagues better in terms of simplicity. It's exactly what i was looking for. In terms of saves, my game automatically exits the game completely on death and reloads. It's something i personally tolerate. Being left for dead could be a compromise?

Yes it looks interesting but i second the surrender key, and outcomes otherwise is just another basic sex mod, but for ostim

Version 1.4 is a small update that only adds a manual surrender hotkey.

I am currently working on a larger system that will allow third-party mods to register and provide their own post-defeat outcomes through DefeatBridge. This work is planned for the upcoming version 2.0, which I hope to release soon.

Version 2.0 has now been released.

The download section also includes an integration script for Simple Slavery Plus Plus V6.3.27 - No ZAZ. Install it after Simple Slavery Plus Plus and allow it to overwrite the existing script, then you can test the Simple Slavery Plus Plus outcome through DefeatBridge.

Hi! How is that mod supposed to work? Do I need to press some buttons during the fight or not? Characters just die after defeat. I can't check if it's working or not. What does the archive "TMS_DBOutcome_IntegrationTemplate" do? In what order should the mod be installed, and is it possible to get any installation instructions in general?

Hi! You do not need to press any button during normal combat. DefeatBridge should automatically intercept fatal damage and start an event. The manual surrender hotkey is optional and can be configured in the MCM.
TMS_DBOutcome_IntegrationTemplate archive is only for mod authors who want to connect their own mods to DefeatBridge; regular users do not need to install it.

If your character simply dies, please send me this log after reproducing the issue:

`Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE\TMS_DefeatBridge.log`

The log should show whether the DLL loaded correctly and why the defeat event was not triggered.

Skyrim\SKSE\TMS_DefeatBridge.log»

Журнал должен показывать, загрузился ли DLL правильно и почему событие поражения не было активировано.

Is this mod only for the player's defeat?
