Mods interfering with sexlab expressions

The facial expressions don't seem to be working no matter what I do. Normal head, High Poly, Expressive Facial animations, Skyrim races, new races, SMP hair, no hair at all. The expressions work for like a nano second and then it's back to normal face. Eyes never shut, mouth barely moves. I tried it with without installing too many mods. Can Papyrus or any similar and popular mod can cause trouble with sexlab expressions? And if so, how do I find the cause?

Yes. As far as I know there's no equivalent of SLIF for expressions. Thus, realistically you can only have one mod handling expressions at any given moment.

Search through all pex files in all mods, including in BSA archives, for the following:

• SetPhonemeModifier
• SetExpressionOverride
• ClearExpressionOverride
• SetPhoneme
• SetModifier
• ResetPhonemeModifier

Notepad++ can do some of the work, but it wont search within packed BSAs. I've made a tool that can do it, and it's available upon request.

 

In addition to this you should consider mods like PPA, which override expressions and phonemes from a dll. Finding these without the source code might be nearly impossible, depending on how they're made. I have no tools nor recommendations for this.
