Spirit_Shard Posted May 28 Posted May 28 View File Altermatic - Runtime Alteration Tool for Palworld What is Altermatic? Altermatic is a Replacer Framework which Automatically Alters in-game assets at run-time, enabling dynamic and highly configurable replacers with user customization options. Altermatic uses JSON configuration files which are both quick and easy for both modders and users to make and customize what gets altered. The most common usage for Altermatic is replacing Pals with new models, enabling gender dimorphism, giving lucky pals unique features/textures, or just giving them cool glasses. You can also add other replacer mods into the mix, if they don't overwrite base-game assets then you can define them in a JSON config file for Altermatic and now see them in-game!~  NOTE : A rework of Altermatic from the ground-up is in the works.  - - -  More information available on either... BombaB Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Hii, this is animation related, i would have wrote on the S-cake but the support section is disabled there. I have a fresh install with all the framework mods in place, everything works fine, but the animations, S-Cake refuses to register any of them, i put the json files into the AnimJSON file first as the guide suggested, failed to register "No Valid AnimSet Found", then i put it in the AnimConfig folder like you suggested it and still failed to register, and so i ran out of options, any suggestions?😊

Sugar Cake v0.6.19 added some new JSON config requirements so Anim Config files need to be updated. We've got some updated JSONs posted in our Discord, modders are being really slow to updated them. >.<

I've been modding games for 10-15 years now, i've never seen such conservative modding community like this one, ever, everything is on DC or on a different website. It's like mod creators want to be recognized but on second thought no not really. So strange. 😄 1

I won't put my opinions on who I believe is to blame for this, but needless to say this isn't going away for a while. 2

So strange. 😄 Dude, I really miss when Discord wasn't a thing, now with 1.0 on like a month we have to 1. wait till everyone decides to act like adults and laugh it all off or 2. a WHOLE new system for lewd mods is implemented, I wish I could even start to have some hope for 1, but every last discord member seems to be throwing gas to the fire, this tribalism is completely unnecesary, in the eyes of the world we're all degenerates, sticking together is the only way to have fun, we really can't afford to be divided

The idea of everything being locked behind discords is a concern our community shares. Discord is great for direct communication as you have instant back-and-forth capabilities and it's great for sharing a lot of information quickly and efficiently. However as a hosting platform it's obviously not designed for it and Discord is for creating primarily private spaces. We're losing a lot of information and work to the void because of these things, and I do wish people would be a bit more thoughtful about where this leads in the long-run. When SCake was effectively forced of LL because of the endless drama, I fast tracked features for my website so we could ensure it was always available, and The Broken Chatbox started our own forum so we had a place to post things publicly if needed. However, it really seems like most people just do not want to move to public platforms and places like Discord servers can feel much more comfortable for people. Discord also allows people to create their own echo-chamber and re-enforce their own bad behaviors without scrutiny, such as how people are telling others to not redistribute their mods while happily re-distributing my own work without a single thought (despite my mods all being public and completely free). I have a bad feeling that stuff like this is going to keep happening within niche communities, and with web-hosting now getting more expensive the idea of free wikis and hosted resources may also be affected as well. Hopefully we can help prevent this from happening in spaces I and our community are active with in the future, already making some movements for helping with inZOI for instance. Palworld may unfortunately be a lost cause for a while until we have enough new-blood disconnected from the troublesome group. We have a lot of modders in our community, but we're all adults with lives and other interests so stuff takes time. We'll be around for 1.0 and I'll certainly make sure the frameworks are up-and-running to the best of my ability at least, for whatever that's worth.

Or core individuals cause dramas? Sorry if i ask dumb things. What was the core of the drama anyway, and why is that the whole community suffers for it?

Not a dumb question at all, though it is unfortunately a much more complicated question than it may seem. >.< Firstly, I should make clear that I don't agree with trying to completely force people out of a modding community. I know this is something my haters think should happen to me (as in, they want me out of modding) but I don't wish this upon others. What I think is much healthier if there needs to be a divide for whatever reason, is that there can be isolated groups and communities like what we have with, say, Skyrim, where people just do their own thing and don't attack the groups they may not agree with, inherent collaboration through frameworks but very little community cross-over. To actually answer the question though, these people are not part of our community (The Broken Chatbox and our sister/collab communities), we tried to reason and tolerate them but after a certain point you can't just let drama be a daily occurrence and we made the choice to start being more aggressive toward their removal (which has only had to escalate). If they left us (myself included in "us") alone and didn't bother our community it wouldn't be an issue really, but they refuse to just have their own silo and leave us alone. The reason they won't leave us alone probably has to do with how and when all this started. This endless drama non-sense has been going since before I even joined the scene. The NSFW scene was already at each-other's throats when I entered the space, and the majority of people causing issues now are the same people who were causing issues then. There's people from back then who left the space but you'll still see bad actors spreading hate and insane lies about those people despite their absence for well over a year and a half at this point. My personal theory is this group wants to have much more control and popularity than they currently have, they tried repeatedly to manipulate me and community members and whenever someone resists or doesn't want to fully integrate into their clique we're seen as 'hostile' and they try and snuff us out. (this has happend to a lot of other modders) The Broken Chatbox has become a safe heaven for a lot of people in the NSFW Palworld community to escape that stuff, but the more adjusted you are the less obsessive you are going to be over Palworld, and we're not just a Palworld community (I just release a new build for NaughtyZOI for instance, a mod for inZOI =^-^=). Sorry for the long response, I'll try and keep this bit short. As for this current debacle, it comes down to people making mistakes, making bad decisions, and reacting emotionally without any willingness to just admit we're all flawed and will sometimes miscalculate or just straight fuck up. (And to be clear, I'm not excluding myself here, I've obviously made my own share of mistakes and bad decisions, I'm human like the rest of us.) I really wish people would just be willing to say and accept sorry and let things be better, but after 2 years of this non-sense I've really kinda just lost hope. I tried to have fun with the whole thing and while many found it justified and silly, others did not and it's just one of those bad decisions that got blown out of the water more than anyone could have predicted. While I've always tried to keep my work up and available for everyone to download and follow, I know that hasn't been the approach others have had. I wish people would think more about the community rather than just themselves. I know some think by removing their work from the public and spiting the community it will then end up hurting me and my work as an attempt to 'oust' me from the space, but really it just hurts users and other community members. If my work fades from relevance I'll just move to another project, but when they harass community members out of the space and their work then vanishes, that's just gone and that person is very likely to never participate in modding again, and that sucks.
BombaB Posted Wednesday at 05:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:12 PM Thank you for sharing. These reasons for arguing sound so childish, people should learn to accept one another as they are, and everyone makes mistakes, that's part of being human. I hope things will change one day. Yea, i don't stick to one game either, i play a lot of different games, but i do like to spice them up a bit. But it's true, i was curious what's going on in this community, because this is the first time i've ever seen something like this, most of the communities stick together more or less, or at the very least they tolerate each other. So sad though, all that hard work.😓 1
