Skyrim won't detect ENB

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I solved one issue only to encounter this one.

I play LE and usually only use ENBoost for functionality improvements. I otherwise keep things vanilla. I installed ENB the way I always have. Wrapper version dropped into the main directory. I checked ENBlocal.ini to make sure it says UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true.

But when I launch the game, I don't get any notification that ENB is present. I used to get a little message in the upper lefthand corner on launch that ENB was working. I'm using the exact same version of ENB I used last time too.

EDIT: I figured it out.

Short answer? My own stupidity.

Long answer:

- Somehow my install didn't include d3d9.dll. It was somehow deleted from my copy of ENB and I had to unzip it again. I also forgot Speedhack=true in the enblocal.ini

Let’s go through the standard steps first.

Install - Enb Helper SE Install - weather mod of your choice (I personally use nat3)

Go to Enb series download the current Enb version 493 (or so), and only put the d3dll.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll into your Skyrim SE directory. (The place where your .exe is located)

Now install you Enb preset. That is usually a enbseries folder, enbseries.ini and enblocal.ini. These also go into your Skyrim SE directory.

Start the game via skse, you should see a small message in the top left corner. In game most often either press „contrl enter“ or „del“ to open the Enb menu.

Read the above edit. I figured out my problem before you posted. But I appreciate the help.
