Is there a way to downgrade tray files to older version?

im playing on older version of sims 4 because i dont want to get fucked by the update that will break all my mods, but because of that i cant use sims or lots that were made on newer version of the game.
I find this guide, but its a little bit vague or i am dumb

Well, if I understood right, you need 2 tray objects saved, one that was created in your game version (as template) and another one that you want to downgrade (from the newer game). You take .trayitem files from both and batch export them into empty package with S4S. Then as tutorial says you find the version value in the file that was crated in your game version, copy it and paste to the 'version' field of file from the newer version. Then you batch export the newer file with replaced version value and use it instead of the original one in the Tray folder. That's all.

Looks like pretty useful tutorial if it works, I didn't know it's even possible.
