TextBlend question.

Hey !
So I'm trying to blend two specular textures with Caliente's program, and I don't know how to go about it. Should I put a specular in the Library folder, and my main one in my source folder, then treat the library specular as an overlay in the program ?
Or is it just impossible ?

First off - your avatar-pic is awesome. Totally awesome. I love that film, and the others in the trilogy too! Brilliant! ^_^

Second - there *should* be a full "How-To" for Caliente's TexBlend in the mod's Description section (EDIT: there is - I just checked. Scroll down to "Blending Files": http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5737/?. Also, if you're worried about "but what kind of texture goes where?", have a browse through the Library folder that comes with the mod, open a few textures, & the filepath structure should become clear pretty quickly.

Don't forget - if these are UNP textures you're wanting to blend, you're better off using Svarog's UNP Blender. It works basically the same way, but double-check the Description & follow the instructions.

Aye, twas a cool ass movie, Park Chan Wook is a master.

I read the mod's page description, but with my crappy english I think I missed some stuff, like, Caliente is just giving info about basic neck seam fix, when I want to create a new specular texture by blending two (SG Renewal Option - Wet body + Oily skin for CBBE). When I follow the guide, I only have a single specular in the end, the last one "Oily Skin" which makes me believe the blending is only replacing the old specular with the new one when I actually want to blend them together !

I can't photoshop too, I suck at it ahaha. And yes, those are CBBE textures !

Ahh - I thought you were wanting to blend aways some seams. Making textures from scratch is not something I have explored yet. Well, the end result should be that you have a single useable specular texture for use on a body, yes? Maybe you could try blending textures in GIMP, a freeware image/texturing type program. There are a TON of free tutorials for this - try a YouTube search for "Skyrim GIMP texture tutorial" - you might even like to try making your own rather than taking two existing ones. :)

*I'm not sure you *can* successfully lay two full-body specular textures over each other & blend them, except where the second texture is only applying to a specific location such as a neck or a wrist (like TexBlend does). Two full-body specular maps might produce something very dark. You might be better off taking the map you like best and modifying it.

So you're just trying to add the oily look to SG Texture Renewal? If so, then just get the _s.dds layer from an oily and put it in place of the _s.dds that is in the SG texture folder. You should be able to just zip it back up and install it with MO afterward.

Unless I misunderstood what you were trying to do of course. :P

I'm downloading GIMP Fastestdog, thanks for the info. I successfully merged two color maps using Textblend, but the quality is not that great. I was like "how come no one thought about blending this  with this  ??" Then I realized in game ... The veins textures from the first transform into maggots crawling under the skin when the second applies it's colors on it  Pretty creepy ...

Nah gvman, I was talking about blending two entire speculars together, not just the neck area, I meant like the whole textures together. I noticed SG's wet body specular was more like tons of little droplets of water on the body, and I thought I could like, use it as an overlay and cover the homogeneous texture of Oily with it. I don't know if I succeeded since I lost my glasses yesterday at a college party, but my char sure looks like she's glossy as fuck when I squint my eyes really hard...

Glasses? Lost? Party? LMAO!! I've never had that happen, fortunately. And I doubt you'll ever see your specs in one piece again.

So you were trying to merge oily and sweaty? So shiny with running droplets over top? Cool. How did it turn out?

Oh, that's right! You can't tell!! :P

Yea I always loose my stuff everywhere ...

Here are pics, I don't even know if I did it or if it's just oily skin over the veiny color map unblended ...Think I screwed up the hands somehow, I hope I made a backup of these ...

Imma try in gimp to see if I can get more noticeable stuff. Or get more noticeable glasses too ... Yea that'd be great.

More noticeable glasses would help. Maybe something like Elton John or Flava Flave would wear? :o

It looks like oil over veins and freckles. And the hands didn't take, but those are a seperate file anyway.
