P5R PC - Adult Romance Rewrites for Rose & Violet Story Overhaul

Kasumi as Protagonist and the Rose & Violet Story Overhaul gave us a wonderful fresh experience for P5R that adds a ton of replay value to the game or makes it downright superior to the vanilla version. However, the experience still never felt quite complete. Whenever you came upon the Rank 9 of the romancable adult Confidants you were greeted with the (slightly immersion breaking) "This Romance Is Not Supported By This Mod" message.

Well, no more! This mod is trying to add the final piece to complete the full P5R experience. Every event starting from the Rank 9 Confidant levels involving Kawakami, Takemi, Chihaya and Ohya were adapted to fit into a Rose & Violet playthrough. 

The changes include:

• Rank 9 & 10 (including phone calls)
• The max Confidant dates

• Kawakami's Hawaii Trip and School Festival dates 

• Both versions of the Christmas dates
• The Valentines dates
• The White Day dates

All of these changes were made with 3 guiding principles in mind:

1.  Try to keep intact as much original text and voiced dialogue as possible.
2.  All alterations and additions must suit Kasumi and be in character for everyone involved.
3.  Tone down all sexual implications and innuendo to a minimum.

 

This mod is SFW and does not change anything except for the text in the game.

• Install Instructions

  1. Download Reloaded II. Hook your copy of Persona 5's .exe file to the modloader.

  2. Download Kasumi as Protagonist and all associated required mods for it. Download Rose & Violet and all associated mods for it.

  3. Download Adult Romances for R&V (this mod)

  4. Drag the zip file into Reloaded II.

  5. Put Adult Romances BELOW Rose & Violet and any other rewrite mods in the mod priority list.

  6. Enjoy the modded game.

I play the game with Japanese audio, but the mod occasionally causes English voice lines to play instead. Is there any workaround or solution for this?

My mod does not actually affect what voicelines are played beyond some occasional one word generic responses during dialogue. These would automatically change with your language selection though.

 

This is a general issue with Rose & Violet. That mod was made for English audio only. It even encourages you to use the Female Audio mod in its requirements section, which also exclusively changes the English audio track of the game to change all gendered terms for the protagonist to female ones. 

 

If you don't understand Japanese and it feels more unintrusive for you to have JP audio playing with the male terms intact, then I suppose I see why it wouldn't bother you of course. Unfortunately if you want to play Rose & Violet you will just have to deal with the English for now. They are working on more audio related stuff for the mod, like making the characters call Kasumi "Rose" instead of "Joker", but there has been no motion to fix the JP audio as far as I have seen on the modding discord.

 

If you want more technical information about how the Kasumi as Protagonist mod chain works, I recommend asking on Gamebanana or the Persona modding Discord.

Ty for this mod. I loved Rose and Violet, and I was sad but understood why the adult stuff would get changed. Still thankful someone like you made this to work them back in in a way that feels at home with the base mod.

Well, to be specific, the Rose & Violet mod changed nothing about the adult romances. Which was kind of the problem, as it just used the vanilla game script for male protag Joker. I basically just finished the rewrites, though while adding my own spin to it to have more variety and flavor.

 

I personally have no understanding or tolerance for the way the mainstream modding sites rejected these changes to a romance that is already in the base game, but it's not like Zylvos could risk their entire project for something that isn't really essential to their mod.

Yes, unfortunately I have not been able to figure out how the Gay Makoto mod got its priority on the phone calls so freaking high. No matter what I tried, Gay Makoto always overwrites them. I have also not been able to contact the mod author to get clarification.

 

For now at least, Gay Makoto will ruin the adult phone calls. The upside is that romancing Makoto still works on R&V without that mod. The Gay Makoto mod only changes the Confidant plot point about Kasumi and Makoto being "cousins" back to being "lovers" before the actual relationship happens. Which is honestly not that important overall in my opinion. Though the cousins thing makes little actual sense, so I see why people wanted it fixed...
