As the title says mod organizer doesnt run any the game. I have mods installed and i made sure that there is no conflicts or warnings in FNIS. (My version is : Skyrim SE. But the thing is, in steam it said that my skyrim is 1.6.1179.0.8 but when i check in the properties of skyrimlauncher.exe it says 1.6.1170 so i installed skse for 1.6.1170 version and put it into my skyrim se folder. I have no idea what is wrong but i would really like help. I been struggling with this for a month. If more information is needed i can provide any (screenshots etc).

Where does it come from?

Since the game apparently doesn't even start, the state of FNIS is irrelevant.

Doubt it, since 1179 is the GOG version.

How did you determine that?

If by "doesn't run the game" you mean the game never appears to start, then it's more likely it's just crashing instantly. Go through all mods that contain a dll, and you're likely to find your problem.

Also, if you don't like guessing:

Not going to happen when the game doesn't even start up.

Getting the version number from SkyrimSE.exe is accurate enough.

It was just to clear up any confusion about which version he was using

Apparently, our user doesn't know which version of Skyrim they're using

The best way to break the deadlock is:

1) Uninstall all , including Game and SKSE

2) Manually clean up the remaining folders

3) Install only the game and DLC

4) Test the game

5) Start modding one step at a time. It will be easier to identify and fix any issues.

alright so i opened the skseloader.exe and got into the game. Checked the version and it said 1.6.1170 so its not the problem with wrong script extender i think. Before i unistall everything and redo the whole thing i need to make sure. When i get skse i take the dll and loader and put them into sse folder on my desktop...then with MO2 i install its scripts right. BUt i also need to ask...where do i stop to check if the game working? the guide tells me to do that once i install the required mods. I guess i install 1 animation pack and go test it out right?

  1. First test is after installing it from Steam. You need to run it once anyways for it to create its registry keys.
  2. Second test is after installing SKSE. Make sure game launches from the SKSE launcher. If you want to be thorough, then use something like Process Explorer from Sysinternals (Microsoft) to make sure the SKSE dll has been injected into SkyrimSE.exe.
  3. If you want to do things properly from hereon, you test the game and the mod after each mod you install.

Once you know your way around debugging tools you can skip 3; that's what I usually do anyways.

Why do that? The advantage of MO2 is you can enable and disable mods with a simple click (check/uncheck them in the left pane) to test running the game with different mods enabled or disabled.

Do you really have your game installed in your desktop? I'd expect it to be somewhere within your Steam install.

The guide recommends launching the game right after getting a fresh install of the game (step 1.2) and after installing SKSE and the premade INI (step 4.4). After that point you should be fine testing the game right after installing everything I cover and running the different tools (so step 8). You'd only find issues if you got incompatible animations or missed some requirements, nothing I can do about that unless you want to launch your game after installing each file. But you seem to have all mods I cover + some more installed without even getting to the main menu.

From what I can see you likely have a mod that's making your game crash at launch, you could check the skse.log in your documents\my games\skyrim special edition\skse to see if some DLL failed to load. But MO2 should warn you about that really. If you're not seeing any error or warnings your next best bet would be to disable all installed mods in your left pane, enable only the basics (SKSE scripts, SKSE ini, Address Library) and test if the game launches, then start enabling mods in groups and see when it breaks.

Ill try to do that...just to make sure. I followed your guide and in first steps you are saying that I gotta install right skse version then I put skse64loader.exe and its dll into skyrim se folder (which is in C:games/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim special edition) and then with MO2 I open the zip and put scripts into mo2. But some tell me thats not the right what to install skse at all. So do I follow the guide and do the same...or just put loader and dll into skyrim and never open it for the scripts in mo2?

And just in case. I ALWAYS open skse64loader through MO2? Or i can make a shortcut on desktop and open the exe from there? Problem is when I did that none of the mods worked. But it didnt launch in mo2. So im guessing when I find what is causing the crashes in mo2 when I open skse and when fix it...I can freely open the loader exe on my desktop? Ill you updated on whats going on if thats not a problem with you

You need to install the scripts somehow. And it's not wrong. There are several ways to do this, the way I do it works and lets you cleanly remove old files in case SKSE ever updates and some stuff isn't fully replaced by new files. I doubt this is the cause of your problems.

You need to use MO2. That's the point, the only way to have modded files in there is via MO2. If you want a shortcut make a new one from MO2 itself. It will launch MO2 on the background and start the game using the skse launcher.

But where do I get the scripts? At first step we get skse64loader and dll which we put in skyrim se...then we use MO2 and open the same file we installed (which is skse for the right version where we took the loader and dll and put them into skyrim folder) and..then what? It says that when we do it like that we install scripts...so it wasnt scripts? Im lost...sorry.

To the OP, aren't you able to launch Skyrim and or Skyrim Launcher from MO2 ?. Try launching vanilla Skyrim from MO2, you could have a path issue.

The scripts are in the same zipped file you downloaded... It's what's inside the Data folder in this picture during step 3.2.

Just in case...maybe I put it in the wrong path. Do I also put mo2 in skyrim se folder or just let it be in the folder i made (SseMods) And when it asks me about "portable" the path is: C:games/steam/steamapps/common/Skyrimspecialwdition. Thats what its supposed to be right? Just making sure

Step 1.4, then 2.1.

If it's asking the file path to your game, provide the file path to your game.

That's correct if your game is installed in C:\games\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition.

And about MO2. When I install it...I install like in the guide...in the folder that I made for sse mods. C:ssemods. And not in skyrim folder it self right? I was just a little lost.

and one more question...sorry i  just dont want to make mistakes on installing part so i would know its something to do with mods...when i install skse...i put the loader and dll into skyrim se folder. Then i open mo2 and press the skse7z file...and install it in MO2 which installs scripts right

Alright! Everything seems to be working now finally! I installed only 1 animation pack and it loaded me into the game. I guess ill figure everything out on my own! Thank you everyone!
