MemeUnc Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I don’t have a modded switch, or a rom of the game on my computer. But, would it be possible to mod the game. Like a version of the one nudist resort Animal Crossing New Horizons mod for this game or the 3ds original 3

Like a version of the one nudist resort Animal Crossing New Horizons mod for this game or the 3ds original It may be tough since, regardless of a Mii's gender, removing their clothes will reveal a tank top and boxers. It'd be easier if males had just boxers and females had both. So unless the wearable bath towel returns and works like last game, then this could be a tall order. As far as I can tell, all that's possible right now is featureless nudity.
konpon568 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 The first thing to solve would be to add what defines as defaults for "no wear" on a per gender choice. Would probably require an addition to how body data is read/written in the game code first. Sorta like how Skyrim and similar do it. Heck, getting off-springs in this game doesn't care for the gender setting. Someone will be the "birthing person", and you will be surprised who it might be, intentional or not. You know, another odd thing to me is that, in the Japanese language setting only, they have a setting for custom "pronoun" text boxes to fill. Different from the character gender choice stuff, of course. If all languages had this support, it would at least solve part of the issues in some modding websites that try to ban attempts to define "masculinity" and, ironically to me, "femininity" splits in the code. Can be done for things like default behaviours and quirks, as well as their preferred clothing wear (all of which can be changed as you level them up, which is how the game currently works). The Non-Binary setting can always be the "all/none of the above" setting, which can handle itself as the "vanilla defaults" setting. The "Romantic Preferences" setting is fine as is, as it can follow itself up with the rest mentioned above. After all, said setting is a multi-choice option. But yeah, trying to talk about these subjects currently in any other website is like enacting further civil war skirmishes. I hope we can talk normally enough in here. An early attempt of a mod that sort of tried to do the above happened around 2 days ago... which got banned within hours in Gamebabana. Granted, what they also did was remove the "Non-Binary" setting, while calling it the "Family Values Mod". Which made it get jumped on by their mods. I don't know their full story there, because Gamebanana has always had a bunch of turncoats in management and they never truly follow their own rules on neutrality, but I digress... that said, the mod in question is hosted elsewhere, so anyone should be able to find it. But back on topic, and sorry for the long ramble... what I like to see for this potential modding scene is to gain ways to expand on how behaviours are defined in a variety of spectrums, rather than all just sharing the same wide-casting net that can easily rip in the long term of playtime. Further gameplay and basic AI logic frameworks for us to play with, on top of having code logic to show visual representions of body sex types (different model splits that do have to account for all default and custon clothing in-game). This is a town life simulator game, and the more you can add to be further reach a desired experience, the better for everyone, IMHO. Plus, in terms of this website... frameworks like those on Skyrim and The Sims would be quite the milestone...

Already dumped the files, sadly I'm no programmer, but if there's anything I can do to help, I am able to provide files at least. Anything I should look for?
Chocolatebar Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I hope a community of Mii creators starts here. Would kill to see a pretty makeup-caked Mii with huge lips or an Ahego face. ETC. 2
Sokobanned Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Chiming in just to say that I've seen a mod which replaces the default body with the Mii Plaza one so while I'm not entirely sure if a mod like what the first poster suggested is doable, a mod that adds boobs or a dick definitely is. I remember that the 3DS version of the game used two different body models for the male and female bodies, does this version also do that?.
konpon568 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 From what I have seen in gameplay streams, there are outfits that simply replace the entire body. It is not some outfit model on top of some "template" mii body for several of the models. So, I would say it can be as simple as figuring out what to replace in the files. But, as you know with any form of computer programming, thinking things can be "simple" is always a pitfall.
xXYaoiBoyXx Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Once you reach high enough population, you can make custom clothing. Sadly no custom socks, shoes or necklaces. Using Ryujinx Emu on PC, you can easily edit your save files to replace textures / edit them in external programs. Building is called "Pallete House Workshop" in game. Software needed is the "Living the Dream Toolkit" on gamebanana. recommended workflow: -Make Custom Clothing of desired type (take note of the body coverage / where the seams would be) -Use one of the default/recommended textures as a base -Save in-game as an item (ideally multiple at once to save yourself time) -export as a png via the LTD Toolkit. -edit the texture / draw / AI generate a replacement texture in your ideal software -use LTD toolkit to re-import over the original texture -go to the workshop, go into the menu to edit the clothing in game then save to make sure it lines up properly and the colors / thumbnail are generated correctly. -Another software has also been made, ShareMii which allows users to share clothing files as .ltdc and mii files as well. I've decompiled the files before and there were male and female body models. But I took a look at the models replaced by the body mod I mentioned earlier and it seems like in Living the Dream's case there's only one body model (BodyBaseDefault.bfres.zs), and that's without counting the models for the clothes. So it seems all Miis use the same default body model in this game. Maybe it's best to replace a clothes model. 3
PyrasButt Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I'm glad there's interest in bringing nude mods to this game! I've been playing it like crazy, having my Miis all talk about streaking and skinny dipping and casual nudity, but it's sad to see them unable to act out their favorite activities. Hopefully one day they can be free of clothes for a true nudist island! 8

Annonymouse123 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Theoretically speaking, someone could edit one of the unique outfit models and edit a nude body from it. If there is one that is. 1
Sokobanned Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) Outside of nude mods I think it would also be cool to have animation replacements (assuming its possible in the first place) Edited May 3 by Sokobanned 2
Sokobanned Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) It ain't much but I've been able to make a little bit of progress. Behold, a half assed boob mod that I'll never release. Here's what I did to achieve this: 1. I decompiled the rom by going on Ryujinx, right clicking Tomodachi Life and then Extract Data > RomFS 2. Once you have your RomFS extracted get the Switch Toolbox 3. Go to the RomFS folder that should've been created when you extracted the files then the "Model" folder 4. Find whatever model you want to replace (The one I replaced for this mod was ClothTopslongDressHalf.bfres.zs) 5. Drag and drop said model into Switch Toolbox 6. Click the model's filename then "Models" and extract the first file that comes up as FBX 7. Open the FBX in Blender and edit it, then export as FBX once again 8. Go back to Switch Toolbox and replace the model with your new one 9. Create a folder anywhere and name it whatever you want. It MUST have a subfolder called "romfs" 10. Create a folder named Models inside the romfs subfolder you just created then drop the edited bfres.zs model in there 11. Load the mod via Ryujinx then launch the game I consider myself to be a shitty modeler and only made this as a proof of concept, but hopefully this will be useful to someone in this thread. Notes: If you're going to edit the default Mii body model, it's separated into various parts. Keep in mind that male/female/nonbinary Miis all share the same body model. This site shows models and their filenames. If you're editing the clothes, it can be useful to know what you're editing. I'm unsure whether this game has a poly limit or not. One of the dress models I edited ended up with 1,392 tris and the game still loaded it. Edited May 4 by Sokobanned 11
Sokobanned Posted May 4 Posted May 4 As another proof of concept, I managed to attach a dick (courtesy of Sleevesies btw) to the bodysuit model and was able to replace the UFO costume with it. Problem now is that for whatever reason the game still uses the UFO costume's texture despite having created a custom texture for the model. Incorrect texture bug aside, I think we have a good lead right now. After messing around with the bodysuits model I learned that they essentially replace the Mii's entire body except the head (which makes sense since the default bodysuit model is identical to the base model minus all the weird seams). Excuse the futa Crystal, I don't have male Miis. 2

I also forgot to mention this but even if I were to solve the UFO's texture being applied to the model. As far as I know it's impossible to match the texture to the Mii's skin color without doing it manually. If anyone can think of a solution let me know. EDIT: Solved! Turns out there's a low quality version of the same textures in the "Lo" folder and the game is apparently using those instead. However, there are still issues. The model is extremely shiny (could be caused by either the Normalmap or Emission texture or the game's shader itself). I also haven't figured out a way of applying the Mii's skin color to the texture. Here it matches my character's skin color because I painted the nude bodysuit texture the same color as her skin. I'm leaving the ZIP for you to experiment with. Penis replaces UFO (warning broken).zip Edited May 5 by Sokobanned 7

Sokobanned Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) Replacing models in this game is a bit of a pain because a lot of the clothes use the same model but with a different texture. But I've been considering making a simple strap-on dildo mod. The hard part would be choosing what to replace exactly but other than that it shouldn't be too hard. Edited May 5 by Sokobanned 4
