heja Posted March 11 Posted March 11 When a Sim has multiple spouses, some of them (I think two at a time?) disappear whenever the Sim is reloaded, such as when traveling between lots or starting up the game. The former spouses are not given the "Ex" relationship bit, and they lose the "partner" bit they once had; their actual relationship bars are unchanged, but all the special relationship bits are just gone. Pretty sure this is a new change since the last Sims patch, probably related to the new more complicated family tree system. 4
heja Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 (edited) I'm not 100% sure on the timing on when it happens, BTW. I tend to notice after loads, but it's possible something else triggers it and I don't notice. I'm weirdly more confident about the two-at-a-time thing. Edited March 14 by heja
heja Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 (edited) I do not. I suppose it could be another mod, but I'm afraid I don't have a guess which one. This is the one that allows multiple marriages, after all. Edited March 16 by heja
heja Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 (edited) I had a test, but I gave a false report of the outcome of the test in an earlier post. I forgot to account for how the game counts in-laws as family now. That also kinda taints all of my results, and I have to do the test over. Edited March 17 by heja
heja Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 (edited) Okay, new test: With all mods installed, I took a save file that has six spouses on game load (I lost track of how many it had on save, partially thanks to previous test), saved it into a different slot, reloaded that slot, and the Sim now had five spouses. (Weird, I'd always seen it go down by 2 before.) With only WickedWhims installed, I went back to the old save file and confirmed that all six spouses were still there. They were. I did the same thing: saved in a separate slot and reloaded that slot. Sim now had five spouses, same one missing as before. This indicates that it is not another mod causing the issue. (I suspect it's something in the base game, not WickedWhims itself.) Edited March 17 by heja 1
rosey777 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having this problem myself.
Test68 Posted Friday at 07:55 AM Posted Friday at 07:55 AM From what i found they changed how marriage works in the royal update, now when you load your save the game will check the family tree and because you can have only 1 spouse in it the game will delete all marriage except one
heja Posted Friday at 05:01 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:01 PM (edited) The "All but one" is inconsistent - I've seen it retain more than 1, at least at first (given enough loads, they'll all disappear eventually). And I've seen it delete a Sim's only spouse (but only if the Sim had multiple spouses at some point in the past.) Edited Friday at 05:01 PM by heja
Test68 Posted Friday at 06:17 PM Posted Friday at 06:17 PM (edited) that's strange, are you on a game version from Royalty update or more (it's 1.121 if google is right) ? because here is a part of the patch note from MCCC from around the Royalty update : Removed the "Allow Polygamy" setting from MC Woohoo. The way spouses and significant others are determined now is by the family tree, not by relationship bits. Sims can have multiples of "spouse" or "significant other" relationship bits, so we could use that for polygamy previously. Now, since it's all based on the family tree relationships, the family tree only allows a single spouse or significant other so polygamy won't work any longer. Even if relationship bits are set so a Sim has multiple spouses, when the game reloads the zone, it will remove the relationship bits as they are temporary now and are added on zone load from the family tree data. granted it's not WW but it should be the same principle for WW Edited Friday at 06:20 PM by Test68
