My settings are 4K max, DLSS rendering at 80, and running in borderless windowed mode, so from what you said, it doesn't seem like a graphics settings issue...

Forgot to mention that I have HDR off, not sure if that could make any difference.

HDR is off. Is it possible that a crash occurs when you launch the app after overwriting because the character was wearing the original outfit before the mod was applied? I can't think of any other reason.

This is why file structure in the Katana Engine is so troublesome.
Verifying and restoring files on Steam to default file structure might resolve issue.

Nioh 3 seems can use mod loader that allows to place g1m and g1t files directly into Mods folder.
I think it would be great if this game had something similar so that various mods could be used together easily.

MOD works great on the 02 version (the one with the difficulty lowered) i appreciate the mod and all but it doesnt change much honestly since is basically impossible to look at her panties during gameplay, it's extremely hard even in photo mode

Will the deluxe costume be uncensored too?

No idea, I had the default costume equipped. But as Sanurai said, you should probably try to verify the game files through Steam and then reapply the mod.

A small mod that removes part of Mio's blouse.

That's fantastic, it works perfectly!

I'm also trying to modify the model. This is my first time modifying a game using this kind of engine, but I can't seem to package it. Yours allows modification simply by replacing files without needing to inject `yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb.py` or similar files!

Could you offer some assistance, or perhaps tell me where I can find tutorials for this? Thank you again for your help!

1. Extract *.g1m from *.fdat using RDBExplorer
2. Unpack *.g1m using gust_stuff
3. Use Blender with the 3DMigoto plugin for import and editing
4. Reassemble using the same programs in reverse order

The same error occurs when removing the undershorts from Mayu's original outfit that someone else posted above. Could you please fix it like this?

I'm not sure what's causing the error and crashes. Rebuilding the *.fdata file from the original files helped with my file.
Perhaps, rewriting *.fdata files multiple times accumulates errors that cause crashes on other PCs.

I succeeded! I tested deleting a bow.image.thumb.png.02262a1154cdd5c8b5d1f8b4f1618b70.png

Thank you so much for your help! I previously tried modifying the texture and then using RDB injection, but it kept failing, and I thought it was a problem with the program.

This might be able to work with the nioh 3 loose file mod manager.

I tried it and the game starts up a little slow upon first load but boots up!

So we might not have to copy and backup files or pack back to fdata.

Now when trying to load your mod's 7z in the mod manager. It complains about duplicate fdata files.

Could you change your fdata to g1m, g1t and g1ts of each respected file?

Here goes a copy of the nioh 3 loose file mod manager from nexus mods already put together for a test.

Just drag and drop into your game directory. Load up the Nioh3ModManager.exe

Click on settings. Set "Mods Directory" to the "Fatal Frame II Remake/mods" folder, set "Nioh3/package" to

"Fatal Frame II Remake/fdata_package" folder.

Then your mods 7z will pop up in the mods list when you refresh.

Tested on 1.02.2 update.

Gotta love the ever aggressive push to censor and delete modding from new game releases! I ain't even looking for like a nude mod, I just want the old costumes back... But oh well, here's to hoping someone figures something out.

I created mods for the earlier two remakes. Over time it became easier as people wrote small tools to help with the process. If anyone successfully gets a mod working with mesh and texture changes, would you mind posting some information here about the important differences and similarities compared to the earlier games? I know it's a different engine but seems to be similar. After modding a dozen or so UE games over the past year and half, I'm somewhat dreading going back to a Koei Tecmo game.

I've yet to buy this game but probably will be soon, just need to finish my insanity run through re9 first.

Thanks

Doesn't work.
It says "Installed," but there are no changes in the game.

The Nioh 3 Mod Manager did not work.

It is merely a front-end; in reality, DLL Plugin Loader and Loose File Loader does injecting.

While DLL Plugin Loader doesn't work in FF2, Nioh 3 DLL Loader does.
However, injecting Loose File Loader causes FF2 to crash.
Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to replace resources using DLL injection.

Ultimately, easiest way to install mods is to use yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb.exe.
Use Yumia Tools to create a new fdata file containing specific files, then use insert_into_rdb to write index to rdb.

Instructions:
0xXXXXXXXX.fdata

0xXXXXXXXX.yumiamod.json

in FatalFrameII\fdata_package directory and run yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb.exe.
