NifSkope & Mod Organizer - texture paths

I have something that's been beating me up.

I've been able to get most of the tools working under the virtual file system.

The exception is NifSkope.

It cannot find the meshes and texture paths.

Manually adding the paths results in nothing.

Under MO the automatic find feature can't even see the Skyrim installation.

The closest I have been able to get is by running FreeCommander and double-clicking the mesh from there.

For that instance and that instance only, will it show the textures.

It also errors out immediately and cannot save properly.

It just doesn't want to use the virtual file system.

Currently I am working blind, it would be nice to be able to see the changes I am applying.

Has anyone here successfully got this to work correctly, and how?

Thanks.

textures? what textures? in game gear?

the in-game-gear has the textures stored away in the bsa. use fo3archive to extract the stuff hidden in the bsa (meshes bsa AND textures bsa, you gotta do it twice). if its stuff from a mod, smart modders link the textures in the nifs to a path that starts with "/textures/..." to ensure that no matter where your game is installed it links them correctly.

if thats the case, stuff will look gray in nifskope, even though its correctly textured. you can check this by looking at it in the ck, because there it shows up correctly then.

cheers.

They are loose textures in the virtual file system of Mod Organizer, not in .bsa. It's more of a "how do I get Mod Organizer & NifSkope to play well together" question. They are installed correctly, and display properly in-game.

When I do mashups, or retextures, I have to do it blind (putting the texture path in manually) and not visually, like pre-Mod Organizer.
