[XCL] [0.23] Cop a Feel


Welcome to Cop a Feel... your police job mod.

 

NOTICE: Going forward, Cop a Feel will require the "Clone Wars" genderswapping framework for use in any of its gender swapping scenes.

What you get with this:

Police Station - Full job. Full and Part Time work available. Performance reviews and incentives. Expandable framework.
Concession Locations - 4 new concession locations (Do Nut Donuts. Cafe du Monde, Cinnabon, and Sarano's) plus drink upgrades for existing locations like Jitters and the Bars.
Random Police Encounters - Police encounters when working or not working. Expandable framework.
Concession Likes/Hates - You and your coworkers have different likes and hates that can lead to rep changes or modlets.

A couple of issues I had with this mod...

First it was very grindy. Having to visit a dozen places to do a "Police Check" every shift and getting the exact same 3 or 5 different ways of saying "Nothing to report". IMO it would be better to remove the police check requirement except for specific calls to scenes. Instead make the requirement for shift completion be by how many different unique areas of the wharf you visit during that shift.

 

Second (mind you this was not with the most recent update) it had some pretty game breaking bugs either due to mod incompatibility (probably not your fault per se, but with such a game breaking bug it's easier to just not use this mod rather than trying to figure out which mod is conflicting) or issues in-mod.  Either way, I kept getting stuck in a catcall where it would teleport me to the wharf entry sign and every single one of the buttons when pressed would simply vanish without doing what they are supposed to. Even the cheap OOC hard stop scene quitting button would simply vanish when clicked without escaping. Funnily enough the buttons for ignore anyway when pressed would take away an action point correctly, but not progress the catcall at all.

 

Third was that all of the coworkers always told me that they were not interested in chatting at that time. I never had a single one willing to chat which made my constant checks pointless. Not sure if this was cause of the starting personality I chose or what. But it was seriously not fun either way.

I observe the same issues. Catcalling getting stuck and the game requires a restart.

Latest patch (v. 1.23.8 uploaded Feb 24 2026) has "Clone Wars" as a reguirement in the modloader, but not listed in the mod description?

Modloader also sees it as v. 1.23.7 but that's a minor issue

 

Edit: It also doesn't recognize the "Clone Wars" mod, when added to the loadorder

So, not sure if this is enough to make it to work, but at least my modloader doesn't complain after changing a line in the mod file that the modloader was complaining and the mod is recognized as Clone Wars for cop-a-feel requiriments

I've tracked down the sex issue. Should be fixed now. I've disabled the passage that was causing the double catcalls. Clone Wars will be required by most of my mods going forward because its a framework for genderswapping the $npc that I intend to make use of in my stories and code. Its not actually needed for anything... yet. That will chance with NEXT weeks update. Today's update (15hrs away) will hopefully address alot of issues.

As for the business checks... it had been requiring 7 to qualify as a shift. I bumped that down to 5. I am not really set up to check vs street location very well. I'd have to add another location tracking variable. But my thought was that most people visit at least a few places when they come to the Wharf, so it shouldn't be too hard to click that police check button along the way. And there will be more encounters added to the police check side of things.

This mod is very easy to mod into for business checks and police encounters. If you have the inclination, code a few encounters. Publish them on Lover's Lab. Most of my mods are designed around the concept that you can add to them easily.

In other news, I captured a criminal in a coffee shop, that was so exciting after days and days of nothing to report ;) Thank you for the add-on. Maybe if you cannot fix the catcalling bug yet, add an escape button that's always present to jump to The Beach Walk?

The problem catcall should be disabled. The catcalls that are active should work properly. Let me know if this isn't the case. I'll see about adding a panic button.

I am glad you enjoyed the rare encounter I added. I plan to add more encounters to the checks as well as the street roaming. It just takes time to write a good story. Hope you enjoy the new Nigerian Prince story.

 Hi, sorry to bother you with the question, but I haven't found a solution. 
I was a police officer, but I was caught drinking alcohol. 
The command "$police_job_alcohol_flag true" doesn't work, and none of the other commands I've tried work either.
 Did I use the wrong command to become a police officer again, or is it simply no longer possible ? Thanks in advance !

I see it was brought up before but is their any solutions or updates for the issues with the 2 bar girls needed not being available any more?

Bar Girls are available within Jirkislo's and Wharf Mods (Download from their pages).  Though, my mod loader is stating that I don't have Haley Spades, even though I do.

i want to report that after being fired for drinking alcohol, this mod bricks itself by me being told to leave when going to police station. How i was caught for having a single drink is already ridiculous but if there is also no way to "make up for it" then there isn't a reason to keep this installed.
