Nioh 3 is coming soon

Perhaps free versions will come out soonish as the modders figure this game out more, for now, do support the modders if you are able as they are working to get something out for everybody and have been doing it for free most of the time for a while now.

If you have the disposable income, I think you should support mod authors who make the only nude mods for games at reasonable prices. Don't spend $20 on a Resident Evil skin that shit is stupid, everybody mods those games. But there is only ever one nude modder for many games. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night author hasn't updated the mod in years so it isn't compatible with the game anymore, and nobody has taken over that work. Wo Long Fallen Dynasty never got one, despite being the same engine as Nioh and a pretty good game in its own right. Don't take these mods for granted. $5 for modders patreon who works on lots of underserved games is a no brainer.

Call me old fashioned, but selling mods it's a shady thing, mods shouldn't be monetized, since they aren't their IPs, and most probably the ip holder would send a cease and desist if they found mods being sold (see the case of the CP2077 VR mod that got taken down because it was being sold).

At the mirror where you can change your appearance you can hide every armor slot you want to, no mod needed for that. But you need to play a bit to unlock that place.

You can also go to General settings at anytime and hide the helmet.

I developed mods and sold them for a long time, until my Cubrebrush shop was shut down by those idiots. It gave me a good and necessary monthly income. I see mods as an addition to the game: it's like buying an accessory for your car or a sofa for your house, because something we buy originally doesn't always come as we want. Even a pair of jeans sometimes we have to hem because they're too long.

the thing about paid mods is that they all become "free" when the entire hype about game already died down, so its not that they are now free, its that it doesnt sell anymore

and no, selling mods is pocket change at best, the only way you can actually earn decent money is if you live in a shithole like me where 5 dollars is a lot of money

selling mods was unethical when bethesda did it, it was unethical when steam did it, and its unethical when you do it, if you want to do it, do it, but if you do a RAM company and say increased prices is good for consumers you are insulting everyone and deserve every hate you get, let me make this clear, your monetary situation is not anyone else's fault, nobody owes you anything, when you sell mods you are taking it from the comunity that shared everything for years and putting a price tag, you are not a victim, you are the Nestle CEO

in a few years there will be tutorials on how to do any mod you want using AI, and it will be exactly because of what neversoft said

I agree, and to add to the first part of what you said: some mods that are behind paywalls end up never being released for free at all and end up completely forgotten as well so it really does indeed suck. When I said we should try to support modders I meant that it should be as a donation kind of thing, not by buying locked mods... thats basically buying an offbrand DLC 😆 which stops working depending on the game after an update or two.

Spoiler

And then there's the other thing of entire catalogues of existing mods disappearing from the big mod websites like Nexus for whatever bs, likely politically charged reasons the moderators come up with for multiple games, now more and more modders either lock mods behind patreon paywalls or their discords which sucks even more.

for now let us hope that more modders become interested in Nioh 3 so more free mods come out here for all to find.

what really set my mind on the problem of how poisonous selling mods is to the culture, is Elin, there were a few modders i was following and they were doing the free later thing, but since they didnt make as much money as they wanted they just dropped it, now the entire community is stagnated and there are barely any new mods since half a year ago, what was even the point, all they did was blue ball everyone

there will come a time nobody will want to mod games if it wont give them some quick cash

Hi everyone, I'm interested in making mods for Nioh 3 but I've never modded this engine before, can someone point me into the right direction? Thanks!

Many good modders are already graphic artists who work with this, like the friend who is modifying Aloy for HFW. The level of complexity required is sometimes very high. I myself am a designer and, although I don't know how to use 3D programs, I am very good at editing realistic textures in formats such as DDS and normal volume maps.

I believe modding this game is very similar to modding Atelier Yumia.  I have a post on how to mod Atelier Yumia here.  You will want to use yumia_fdata_tools v1.1.3 or newer.  To my understanding, only my tools have been updated; qrdbtool, fdata_dump, etc - none of them work for Nioh 3 as of last I spoke to @jmedia7.  You can use yumia_mod_extract_files_from_fdata.py (included in yumia_fdata_tools) to extract .fdata files.

For G1M models, I have tutorials on how to modify them here.  For textures, you are on your own, I do not know what tool works with Nioh 3 textures.

I'm not playing or modding this game, so please don't ask me questions.

The game doesn't really have any good mods yet. Ideally a undergarmet remover works because there's a way to transmogrify armor in the eternal rift where you can change your appearance. Ninja and Samurai do have different armors but both undergarments are the same.
