Maestro01 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Help! I have downloaded NPC private needs and zaz animation pack V0054 to my compressed downloads file. How do I activate them/load them to Skyrim? I had a problem when loading SkyUI and now it only works if I start it from the Skyrim launcher file. If I attempt to launch Skyrim normaly, it errors. What is FINIS and do I need it to run NPC Private needs? How do you get it as it is not on the site? I'm pretty much a nube when it comes to programming mods so keep it in small syllables please.
flutie Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Fores new idles http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11811/? (read the instructions carefully) , any animation mods needs this, SKSE http://skse.silverlock.org/, unpack the SKSE and copy/paste into the Skyrim folder C/programs86/steam/steamapps/skyrim (the same folder with the skyrim launcher)send the SKSE loader to your desktop (you will use this to launch skyrim), read the private needs page for requirements, http://www.loverslab.com/topic/17295-private-needs/ Use a mod manager to load your mods NMM http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/modmanager/? or MOD organizer http://www.loverslab.com/topic/20492-mod-organizer/?hl=%20mod%20%20organizer , they both have instructions on how to use them Manual Install: open the zip folder, copy/paste into skyrim data folder, launch skyrim, click on data files, find the esp and click on it That is it in a nutshell Ragna_Rok's Guide: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/26102-manual-installation-of-skyrim-mods-a-beginners-guide/?do=findComment&comment=656202

Maestro01 Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 For Dpflutie9 I appreciate your help and I'm sure you think you are being very succinct but I did not understand one word of your answer. I've been to those links and they just end up taking me in a circle. I need step-by-step instructions. (Like what's a mod manager?)
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 dafuq ... em, dude, did you check out my tutorial? the one that he posted last linked? theres no circle in that! you dont need a mod-installer, its just an option, if thats too much for you, look for my guide and simply follow it.
gvman3670 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 A mod manager is a tool that installs and uninstalls mods for you. The two most used here are "Nexus Mod Manager" and "Mod Organizer". Here are the downloads, so take your pick. NMM is the easier of the two for a new individual to use. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/modmanager/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/? You can use either of these to add FNIS and other mods to your game. But SKSE will have to be a manual install, and for that follow the above link to Ragna_Rok's simple, easy to follow instructions on how to manually install mod files. In fact, if you're having issues with a manager or manual installs it tells me you're really, really new at this. No biggie, we all started at some point. So do yourself a HUGE favor and watch Gopher's videos on modding Skyrim. The vids are super easy to follow and you'll be shocked how easy it really is.
flutie Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Read Rag's post first at the bottom of my first post , then try http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1078019-how-to-install-skyrim-mods-a-beginners-guide/ , or videos
