[REQ/IDEA] - Skyrim Adult Roleplaying Forum

As a community of gamers on an adult oriended forum, might it be safe to assume that some LoversLab members have participated or continue to participate in text-based roleplaying?

 

I've been tossing around the idea of a plot-based Skyrim RP, but one where adult content is welcome, rather than squeaky-clean, one-thing-led-to-another fades to black. Personally, I've always considered standalone sites to be preferable to those where roleplaying is a side feature, but I might be alone in that. Anyway, the problem is that free forum hosts tend to frown on adult content, and I'm completely inexperienced in all fields of web design and development. I have ideas, but no skills with which to implement them, and I don't have the free time right now to learn.

 

Would anyone else be interested in joining an adult Skyrim RP community? And would anyone with applicable talents be willing to make it possible?

While the idea sounds good (after all I have several RP-PMs already) I am not sure how you would try to manage all the "events" and put them into one plot. Having a location in which everyone can choose his or her own role and maybe even a profession and such things would be really nice on the one hand but very hard to "synchronize" with the rest of the community.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at, but I think I get the gist?

But I don't even know if the plot really has to be unified, as long as the RPs have some kind of direction. Don't get me wrong, smut is fun, but there doesn't seem to be much point in building an entire board if the members only use it to write cooperative kink memes. Obviously, I want adult content to be a big part of it, but I want it to be secondary to actual roleplaying.

 

That said, I think it might be better, should this go forward with a central plot, if it followed the events of the main quest rather than coinciding with them. Everyone here has played Skyrim--it might be more interesting, say, to see how the freed dragons interact with the civil war, or even the rest of the continent. I find it hard to believe that Alduin limited himself to Skyrim alone.

Well, you also need to think of how you want the events to happen. If you want something extremely coherent, just a regular forum can do. Open a thread, state the rules in the OP, and it's started.

 

If you want a slightly more direct feed, where long-term continuity is a bit less important, you could always have an embedded Chatango window on your site. 

 

Hell, you can even scrap the "less continuity" side if you create a chatroom on that site that's invite only

 

And no, I'm not trying to maki publicity for that site, just saying that I've had positive experiences going on there

The problem is that I've yet to find a free forum host (ProBoards, Forumotion, Yuku, IcyBoards, so on...) that actually allows adult content. They seem pretty hammer-happy; I don't even know if adult writing is permissible, and I doubt they would allow it if anyone ever decided to report the board.

 

On the other hand, a privately-run board would have the freedom to post anything legal in the country from which it is hosted--in the US, that pretty much means anything fictional, and most things real, excepting underage, zoophilia (I think), necrophilia, and probably rape (and I can't imagine why you would want to allow users to post real versions of any of those).

 

On the note of chatrooms, I would greatly prefer forums. Forums allow a lot of organization and storage, so users can reference both what others and they themselves have written previously. I suppose some chatrooms might support chatlogs, but navigating those seems like a pain.

Yeah posting real versions of any of that could land the poster and site owner in a lot of trouble. (Dry humor, sorry.)

 

Are you at all familiar with the "Book of Erotic Fantasy"?  It was written to be the Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 guide to adult content in D&D games.  Very nice reference for adding adult content to just about any fantasy game even with the D&D focus.

Maybe begin a 'LL Guild' thread for ESO, an RP Guild, mmo should be out in a few months. I'm not holding my breath for ESO, but I'll likely buy and play for a free month just to support the cause. You can adult RP in MMOs if you're using Vent or TS. Most stuff was on TS/Vent when rping in an awesome Guild in Age of Conan.... actually, could start a guild in AoC, as it is free-to-play, and RP there. Available on steam...
