Is it worth downgrading skyrim nowdays?

I have the special 1.1170 (non AE, just special) edition of skyrim and want ot mod it again. some time ago when I did it before I remember that i had to downgrade it to a version before the AE update cause of the low quantity of the mods for AE at time, nowdays there are more mods taht work for AE or should I downgrade it again?

If you have 1170 you're good, just be aware that you are using AE, so SE dll files will be incompatible. There's really not much reason to use SE anymore, unless there's a specific old mod you want to use that has a dll for SE/hasn't been updated.
