[Question] how to eslify outfit mods for idiots

Recommended Posts

So ive found that 1/3 of my esp slots are taken by outfit esp with sometimes only 1 complete outfit only per mod.

I know about the 254 esp limit and the difference with light plugins (esl).

Whats the simplest way for a beginner like me to transform an existing esp plugin into esl?

(I wont share the result)

Thanks in advance

  1. Open the plugin in xEdit.
  2. Add the ESL flag to the plugin header:
    • Plugin -> File Header -> Record Header -> Record Flags -> Right click -> Edit
  3. Renumber form ids:
    • Right click plugin -> Compact FormIDs for ESL

Or alternatively, use Wrye Bashes Plugin checker from View tab, and see if any mods can be changed to ESL there.

Then, follow @traison 's instructions for SSEEdit.

Beware, some mods don't take well  to Compacted FormIds. Armor, weapon, and clothing mods are fairly safe.
