I would be suspicious of mods with dlls in them. Also have a peek in the Papyrus log. If you have a mod that replaces startmenu.swf, remove it.

Check your if SKSE version is correct for the your game version.

I have removed the mod that replaced the startmenu and also removed mods that dont work properly or are just too old.the skse version seems to be the correct one 1170 but nothing seems to work the main menu now shows the logo but nothing else.

You didn't specify whether you removed any dlls. But if we assume you're down to basically running only SSE Engine Fixes and it's still broken, then the next step would be to log file IO traffic with Sysinternal's Process Monitor and see which file is the last one it loaded.

If you're wondering which dlls to remove, then here's a hint: you don't need pwetty gwaphics or floppy tits when the game isn't even working, so:

ENB, CS, CBPC, SMP, all po3's mods, DAR, OAR, SexLab, SweetFX, DynDOLOD, MDNM, all the crash fixes and engine patches except for Engine Fixes and any asi files and their loader if those are a thing in Skyrim.

Q: But I don't want to remove all these mods, I just got them installed.

A: Move the dll files out of the SKSE\Plugins directory, and put them back afterwards; or if that's too much to keep track of, then rename the extensions of those dll files to .creampie, or .banana (lots of room for imagination here).

RaceMenu. Your mod manager should have known the answer to this question.

To explain that I'd have to explain how Windows works. The short version is, filter for file IO traffic from SkyrimSE.exe, run the game until it's stuck, then check the log for CreateFile calls with a Read disposition.

And whatever you do, don't upload a procmon log online. They contain far more information than you think.

I would be looking for the last files opened or read by SkyrimSE.exe before it froze. Theory being that it was loading something and got stuck on it.

If you trust me to read it then sure. Save it filtered so that it only contains events from SkyrimSE.exe. Consider encrypting it before uploading - never know who else is watching.

In that case I'd have to see this problem for myself to figure out.

ok so after removing almost all of my mods i manage to make the main menu to finally appear.now i have to install my mods one by one to find the problem.
